Hi,
Is there an official source, like the Apollo by the Numbers, stating how many photos were taken during EVAs?
Thanks.

Well, here is a start. You can go through the missions that landed and total up the "surface" shots. [Edit: Though some of those surface photos might be inside the LM cabin, not strictly during an EVA.]

Some time ago, AULIS counted the EVA photos to say there were not enough time to take them. Then I saw someone from Clavius or BA correcting the numbers by a bit. Do you know a link for this discussion? Counting them on Apollo Image Atlas seems to be prone to fault.

The info came from Jack white, who basically made up the numbers by guessing how long it would have taken to do everything else, then found he was left with 30sec per photo. He then claimed that 30 sec wasn't enough time to take a photo. Of course 30 sec is plenty of time, and Jack ignore that there were two astronauts and that when they took the photos it was basically point and shoot meaning that they could have done an entire panarama of 10 photos in about 30 secs

He also ignored the fact than the "everything else" included taking pictures. For example, each rock they picked up was first photographed in situ, each bit of scientific equipment deployed on the surface was then photographed.

Does any photographic index list which pictures were taken on EVA?

Check the ALSJ it tells you when the photo was taken as best they can tell from the transcripts and TV transmissions.
