It didn't. The internet came out of development by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) into redundant messaging systems. The launching of satellites enhanced it to a degree, it could be argued.

Okay,I ignorantly posted that the Internet was A Spinoff of the space program.But the space program helped the personal home computer by developing a computer small enough to fit into a smaller area.
