Well, they're painting you into a corner, arent't they?
I have to continually remind myself not to use "God", "Religion", "Beliefs" or anything political into my posts. I'm thinking of spending more time here, if only to get things jumping a bit.

Are you banned from viewing, or just from posting?
The "About BAUT" subforum has a "Banned Posters" thread, where the mods announce each banning, its duration, and the reason why. In your case, the reason given was a rules violation and a link was provided to the offending post.

Viewing as well as posting. I guess I'll have a look at it tomorrow, but if it's what I think it is (a joking refrence to someone being a 'dead fool' for not wearing a seatbelt - something HE took no offense to) then I see no reason to try to continue at BAUT. The moderators there are too touchy - always locking threads just as they become interesting.
Is an insult still an insult when there are no offended parties?

I think people should worry about whether or not someone might be offended before they say something, otherwise it is sort of like blindly firing a gun into a crowd and saying "See? I didn't hit anyone, so what's the problem?".

I was using private messages with the guy at the time - I was reasonably certain he was not going to take offense to this particular comment before I wrote it. That's again, if what I think might be the problem is what the BAUT moderators picked up on.

If, should you return to BAUT at some point, and were to point out to me a thread there that was locked just as it became "interesting", along with the specific points of interest[1] in its final posts, I would be much obliged

I will admit, all the bannings I can think of were at a point where the remainder of the thread was completely predictable. However, I do miss seeing the final meltdown. And sometimes in last last heated exchange are both the most mind-boggling dumb (and hence most quotable) utterances from the banned one, and some of the best explanations from other posters. So it's a pity to cut everything short there.

Well I'd love to go find some for you, but I can't even view the site at the moment.
From recent memory, I thought the hunting thread was interesting, particularly the laughable thesis that hunters do it because they like to wound small animals. There was a thread on the Georgia-Russian conflict that brought up some interesting points before it got locked.
