Believe it or not, some hoaxers explain this large number of former Apollo workers by invoking "compartmentalization" as if there was no difference between the incredibly public Apollo program and the blackest NRO spy satellite program. They also seem to think that every Apollo worker was a gullible idiot who wore blinders to work every day, never expressing any interest in the project outside his own specific assignment.

There's just no reasoning with these people.

Speaking of the Blackest NRO Spy satellite program...People do talk...eventually. That is why the JFK assassination had so many "Witnesses" die mysteriously. And yet lots of information has gotten out by old men with a conscience. You'd think that we would have some people talking by now. Those who have, were not even directly involved with Apollo and display a frightening lack of understanding when putting forth their arguments. The "evidence" of most moon hoaxers is swept away with common sense and often a public domain document from NASA or one of its contractors such as technical specs or manuals.

For example, I had one guy tell me that there was no way they could have fit the rover into the LEM...Yet I was able to show the guy photos of Jim Irwin and Dave Scott unpacking the thing in the clean room and several manuals and specs demonstrating how it folded up into one of the LEM's quadrants.

You also don't have a plethora of "mysterious deaths" of people who worked on Apollo. My favorite one is the loonie theory that the Apollo 1 fire was set to shut Gus Grissom up.

The "mysterious deaths" list on Kennedy is greatly overrated.

Yeah, if you can accept that the US sponsored a huge crash program to land humans on the moon and succeeded in only about 8 years, then you should be able to accept that a misanthrope could take a rifle to work and shoot a target in a slow-moving open-top automobile. No help needed or wanted; much easier to keep it secret that way.

The FBI interviewed 25,000 people during their investigation of the assassination. Back in the 60s about 1% of the population died every year. That death rate multiplied by the number of people interviewed multiplied by the number of years passed from the assassination to the London Sunday Times article about the deaths (6 years, IIRC) means about 1500 of the interviewees should have died.

And that's just among the FBI interviewees. Most of the mysterious deaths were people who were not interviewed by the FBI or who didn't testified before the Warren Commission. So by that criteria about 10 times as many people could be included in the list.

If anything the mysterious deaths was greatly underrated!

It's like the "Curse of Tutankhamen"--it's amazing how many of those "mysterious deaths" are old people dying of the diseases of the elderly.

Like Jack Ruby:

BG1 - We better kill him in a way that will make sure he doesn't talk.

BG2 - Shall I get another imate to shiv him?

BG1 - No, that'd be too obvious, we'll give him lung cancer, that'll work.

BG2: Ok, but it will take awhile to sneak a vial of cancer into prison and inject him with it. I think I can get it smuggled in sometime next week.

BG1: No hurry. Let's just wait three years.

BG2: Three years??? He'll spill the beans a thousand times in three years!

BG1: Probably. But it's a chance we'll just have to take.

One thing I could never understand is the conspiracy theorists saying Ruby killing Oswald had all the signs of a mafia hit. WTF? What mafia hit was ever conducted in front of scores of police officers, reporters, photographers and cameramen???

Let's Just say there are a lot more loose ends and evidence trails in the JFK assassination than there ever was in Apollo. There is lots of evidence pointing to conspiracy. The deathbed confession of E. Howard Hunt for example, eye witnesses saying the shots came from the Grassy Knoll, The list goes on and on...Lots of this evidence has yet to be explained. The "Hoax" evidence for Apollo can be explained and that is why I believe we went to the moon. The way the LEM works can be explained. The "Magic Bullet Theory"....that is another piece of work all together. As for the deaths...there are some very interesting ones associated with the JFK murder. But of course these are not definitive proof either way. Still, Oswald claimed to be a "Patsy" and his death negated the possibility for a jury trial, so it is speculation at this time. Still, I subscribe to the idea that the powers behind the JFK murder are the powers that are in charge today. It is a fascinating debate.

This is really off topic, but rather than repeat all the standard debunkings here, check out "Reclaiming History" by Bugliosi. It's a masterpiece.

Oswald wasn't the first nor the last person accused of a crime to falsely claim he was both innocent and framed.

Yeah, there's a reason courts don't just say, "Oh, you say you were framed? Oh, well, go on home, then."

I was not even coming close to implying that one should be considered not guilty because they say they are framed. Don't twist my words.

I am just saying that the JFK assassination is far from a case closed proposition.

Care to quantify or justify this statement on terms other than "it just appears that way to me."

There is lots of evidence pointing to conspiracy.

"Loose ends" do not point to a conspiracy. Only evidence of a conspiracy points to a conspiracy. Aside from what you consider to be unanswered questions, what is the evidence for a conspiracy?

But of course these are not definitive proof either way.

You are presuming the validity of the conspiracy theory with the same words you are using to suggest it exists. No one has brought out any evidence of a conspiracy so there is no reasonable reason to believe one existed. Conspiracy only exists in the minds of the "conspiratorially aware."
