One of the reasons this guy thinks it was a hoax is, according to the article, "that some of the dust kicked up settled too quickly to the ground, he says". I'd love to know the reasoning behind that one...

I'd love to know the reasoning behind that one... The hoaxers put a little too much vacuum on the lunar surface set, obviously. But it's probably a gross misunderstanding of 1/6g physics.

My phone has been ringing off the hook. I've done three media interviews just this morning.

I'd have to read more than just the headlines of my local paper to know. However, I did find out yesterday that I've got to get downtown to the children's museum at some point, because they have a display of Moon rocks at the moment.

I doubt the Houston Chronicle could ever live down the shame if it published a uncritical hoax story. There are still many people living here that worked on the Apollo missions. To infer they were dupe of liars would be unthinkable.

New Scientist ran a competition to win a moon rock, and I didn't notice the sidebar till the end date had passed dammit.

Hmm- I would say that if he believes the radio messages all came from orbit, then his ham licence, if that is not his work rig, is fake. Also, let me be the first to call him 'crazy'. He is crazy.

I like how Mr. Wilson says, "I do not want to refer to Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin as liars." They say they walked on the Moon, he says they didn't and they were really in the Nevada desert. Sorry Mr. Wilson, but you are referring to them as liars.

My phone has been ringing off the hook. I've done three media interviews just this morning. At least it's not just the crazies that are getting interviews...

Sorry Mr. Wilson, but you are referring to them as liars. I pointed that out to someone recently, and he couldn't be made to understand it. The language escapes some people, apparently.

I still think it would have been more fun to have them just quietly post them, then watch the internet "light up"...
