Children of Men featured one five minute uncut long action scene and one 8 1/2 minute long action scene with only one seamless cut. They both have phenomenal choreography and are full of complex practical special effects.
EDITED TO ADD: ...But that hardly qualifies any of Rocky's arguments. The difference between an 8 minute take and a 3 or 4 hour take in film terms is astronomical.

Likewise the one-shot episode (can't remember if there was a commercial in its original airing or not) of Mad About You. Fifteen minutes, or possibly half an hour, is nothing.

Just checked, 'Rope' was filmed as one long take, there is only one 'cut' and that is dicguised by the camera tracking past a black area of dividing wall between 2 rooms on the set, this was done so the reel of film could be changed. The takes were limited to the length of the available reels of film, about 10 min, with techniques like the camera panning across out of focus furniture to conceal the breaks between takes.

The longest single take I have seen in a movie/on TV was 20 minutes. It was an episode of Mad About You that was done in a single take. One of the longest shots in a movie is the begining of Serenity where they show Mal going from cockpit to engine room, introducing the crew and the ship as he does. This is a cheat though, as while the ship was really constructed, it was in two parts, and so there is a "break" in the middle that means the single shot required two shots to get it. One of the longest special effects shots I have seen is Golum's dialouge at the end of Two Towers. That shot is nearly 3 minutes.

There's a feature film called "Russian Ark" shot in 2002, which is completely unedited. It's a single 90-minute steadicam shot.
It took them something like four or five attempts to get the shot.

There is a 3 minute tracking shot in Goodfellas which I'm led to believe was filmed non stop.

It may not be the longest, but I'll still rank it as the most spectacular I've ever seen: The opening shot from Touch of Evil.

It's a great episode. I love the plot, such as it is, too.

Technically, there are some single shots in movies that went for DAYS. Time-lapse studies, that is!
