I spotted this piece of YouTube fakery on another forum, basically someone ( greenmagoos) has taken NASA footage added 'NiteVision Scope' effect to it and then presented it as ' proof' that the Apollo Missions were faked. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIp7VDmyoqwWhy on Earth do these people seem to think that faking their own footage improves their case? I've seen the same thing happen amongst the 9/11 Troof crowd.

The film description:
LOL
That just makes me laugh... rotfl. I saw it before, but it seriously made me doubt whether greenmagoos was a real HB or a government shill planted to make conspiracy theorists look bad.

Secret grandfather? What is that supposed to mean? And why would he keep a hangman's noose for forty years, even if it had been used in the Holocaust (I thought hanging was one of the few methods they didn't use)?

Slave labourers at the V2 production facility were occasionally hanged for various acts of rebellion and sabotage, in common with slave labourers in any other part of the territory controlled by the Third Reich. IIRC there was a distinct prediliction for using simple wire loops rather than knotted rope nooses. Hanging was not used in the extermination camps, being too labour intensive.

Is this the best they can do? Provide a tint to the video, and cry "HOAX!"
Greenmagoos seems less a real hoax believer and more of a parody of one. He resorts to just making stuff up, and having people uneducated in space science pat him on the back for his fake work.
I feel sad for those people, actually. They cannot appreciate good science. They live in their own little world.

There were some things written which would be very interesting to read again, given the content of this thread.

It takes some 20 seconds for the slight motion to dampen out. I'd like to see that duplicated in an atmosphere.

Hence my continued policy of ignoring them: they seem to lack anything that attracts my attention.
I feel sad for those people, actually.
I do too, until I realize they bring it largely on themselves. Society has a nice way of ironing out the bumps they create.
They live in their own little world.
Undoubtedly. But at the same time we should be nice to them. Sometimes they slip us the large fries instead of the medium ones we paid for, when the manager's not looking.

;D I recently encountered this video, which basically repeats every debunked claim. When I showed the person that his reason to believe the unparallel shadows at 4:00 were evidence of fakery was simply wrong, I got blocked from his channel. I assumed he was out to spread the truth; I was wrong. I'm not surprised though. I showed him this photograph I made in Paris. It turned out to be excellent to portray non-parellel shadows; of course I didn't think of that when I made it. (I was trying to make a good photograph of my group of friends together watching the skater, however my shadow got in the way. ) Finding out some people knowingly silence people from spreading the truth, like it happened here, actually makes me kind of sad. I cannot understand why somebody would do that; I guess the answer lies in Nietzsche's philosophy. It just shows how pathetic (can I use that word?) some people are. By "some people" I'm not trying to make all HBs (or other people, for that matter) look bad; I'm talking about those who silence people from spreading the truth in the way I described before. I'm not intending at insulting people personally in an indirect way; I'm sorry if it came across like that. I didn't mean to. I was just telling a story and connecting my thoughts about the matter to it.

It just shows how pathetic (can I use that word?) some people are. If Jay can call attention to their employment in the food service industry, I think you're safe using the word pathetic occasionally.

Actually that wasn't meant to be insulting. It's more of an observation of cause and effect. Conspiracy theorists tend to be people who have a very different idea of how the world should operate than the majority. In a few cases it may be delusional, but in most cases it's just mildly revolutionary. The attitude often prevents them from rising in social an economic stature, which engenders greater hatred of the mainstream, a worse attitude, and an ever-tightening spiral of failure.
It takes a break from that vicious circle to realize that people often act as cogs in the machine not because they like the machine, but because it's an unfortunate means to a different end. It's okay to hate the government for its corruption and abuses of power, but at the same time realize that they went to the Moon. Things are rarely as good or as bad as they seem, and you can't often rearrange all the circumstances to get everything you want without enduring something unpleasant.
