It's amazing to me, even though I grew up towards the end of the cold war, to see so many astronauts and cosmonauts from the "Apollo era" on that list... it would be cool to attend that event.

I can only imagine what it would be like to see Buzz Aldrin and Alexei Leonov sharing stories about "the good ol' days".

Jay, tell them:
Australia! The great land 'down under'. Perfect weather, beautiful beaches, spectacular scenery, excellent exchange rate....

Or even better: New Zealand. Just as down under, better weather, better beaches, better scenery and better exchange rate.

How about: Germany. Average weather, hardly any beaches worth speaking of, lots of history, bad exchange rate but the best beer there is *grinning, ducking and walking very very fast*

This convention could not have come at a worse time for me. We are undergoing a major reorganization at work and I cannot leave during the day. My office is half an hour away from downtown Salt Lake, where the astronauts are meeting. And I'm already committed to various entertainment-related holidy enterprises during the evenings. Grr.
