The MSN home page, “On This Day” segment notes that today is the anniversary of the splashdown of Apollo 8. The accompanying picture is of the LM, which of course did not fly with A8. Even worse, when clicking through on the picture, one comes to a short Encarta article on the LM that further ignores A7 and claims A related article on Apollo astronauts states there were 12 crewed missions. Which I assume to mean A7 through ASTP. ASTP of course didn’t have a LM. Yet another example of a poor presentation of space history.
