Just a heads up to all those who can get BBC4. Apollo 11 A Night to Remember will air for 2 hours containing material restored from the original BBC telecast. Tx time 01:05 am (on the Monday evening)
Satellite info: Astra 2ABD Transponder frequency: 10773 H 22000 symbol rate 5/6 Polarisation -5.0
Please note that BBC4 is digital
It should contain some long forgotten telecast material from 1969!
cheers Dwight

I saw it. It was very nostalgic for me and very informative. I liked the way they cut the Luna TV pictures with that of the LM window mounted 16mm. James Burke got a few things wrong about the roles of the CDR and CMP but his demos on suits and systems were very enjoyable. It was nice to see everything pristine and new rather than the aging and dusty exhibits that they have now become. Patrick Moore's trousers were very dubious though.

Indeed the Lunar TV footage looked like it was ex 2" video rather than the kinescope. I'll need to ask the producer what he did exactly as he explained to me some processing was done to make it look pristine. A pity about the studio links being lost, though.
In case anyone is worried about not being able to see this show, rest assured that a Digital Betacam copy is in safe hands...
(Strangely enough, despite the protests of Moon Man, Stargazer and their ilk, the satellite seemed to actually work as planned and thus I was able to view the program. Go figure...)
