LunarOrbit:
I had "greig" pegged right away without knowing his online history. That's why I was feeding him the debunker line. I reserve that kind of nonsense for only the sillyest of posts - like Lionkings thread about the shadows, where I started it.
I understand your misgivings about playing that particular role, but it's really a tempest in a teapot. I mean, really, who gives a rat's hindquarters what a bunch of idjits say to eachother online? Frankly, I'd LOVE IT if some of my bull-onie about the composition of fake lunar dust got quoted elsewhere. It would go SO far in proving the gullibility and ignorance of the posters who use it.
I did resist using my "apollo 13 really landed" conspiracy.

Just checked the msn forum and found that he has been joined there by our old friend lunatic.
They are having a lovely time telling each other how much we all resemble Hitler.
Ah, bless.

Does anyone know if he get banned from BAUT? Just curious Pete Yes, he was known as "inverse" there. He was also previously banned from this site as "orumdude". He was banned from Unexplained-Mysteries as "kilter". When his msn site was attacked a few months back it was attacked by someone who knew his past history and listed all his previous user names, which was helpful.

Apparently he likes to go to different forums, picks fights, invites you to his place so he can "whoop up on you", and in the meantime gets himself banned so he can declare victory. How mature.

Oh, that guy. I just did a quick reread of his 33 posts. Worthless.
Heck, even Lunatic made more sense and inspired more research.

Check the posting style of Heavenlybody and compare it to Lunatic and Orumdude.
I don't think that GriegDempsey has left us yet. I believe that he has more than one sock lurking among us still.

In which case he has two socks talking to each other on the MSN forum.

Isn't that why sock puppets are banned? Just to prevent that specific "activity?"

That's half of it. The other is that, if you're banned, you're banned. You don't get to come back.

Lunarorbit,
It seems that in banning the IP address(es?) for Greigdempsey, it has also banned my home IP address. This is similar to what happened last September.
I'm currently logged on at my work IP address.
This is the only username I have, and no-one else has access to my home computers. As I pointed out before, my ISP (NTL in the west of Scotland) give out identical IP addresses, which means that banning those also bans me (and others in the same situation).
Would it be possible to release that IP address? I understand the difficulty, particularly if someone keeps on re-registering under a different username.
Thanks.

"obsession with facts."
Huh huh. Strange that a science-based forum would be centered on facts. Because when I think of science, I think of rampant speculation and rumor.

Would it be possible to ban an IP address from creating a *new* account (and posting as guest, I suppose) but still allow those with existing accounts to login and post? That's how I've seen this solved in the past.
