To the kind government agents reading this:
Where's my NASA cheques? I've been debunk the Apollo hoax for you for several years now and I haven't seen a cent for it dispite that I'm told I'm supposed to be being paid.

There may be an assassination attempt on Bush on Sept 17th. And when this doesn't happen, will you admit that you were wrong and perhaps your sources don't know squat? Or will you try to forget you said it and move on to the next half-baked theory? I know what my money's on.

May be? Aind when nothing in particular happens on Sept. 17? What will Rusty say about whatever source provided this half-assed "prediction"?
I predict he will sort of half-admit the predicted event did not happen, but invoke the "may be" clause, point out that the date may be off, and/or possibly allude that the event did happen but of course was covered up. Or that it was successful and that a clone or actor has replaced the real thing.
I further predict that he will not come out and say that the prediction itself was completely and utterly bogus, nothing more than a guess or hunch with no basis in reality.
I finally predict he will not entertain the notion his source simply has no gift of prophecy or clairvoyance or whatever at all.

Seriously though... I remember one time in another forum that I visit some teenage punk said something to the effect of "if Al Gore had won the election I would have killed him" and a short time later the FBI paid him a visit. And that was long after the election when Gore was no longer in office. So, when making "predictions" I recommend you word them in a way that can't be mistaken for a threat.

Reporter:- do you think this will be over by Christmas?
Afghani group leader:- yes.....but not necessarily next Christmas! ;D ;D ;D

December 6th will be the worst day in history. However, it may not be in 2005!
Also, I've since heard from the same source that the September 27th date may be associated with 2007.

Well, my sources say it may be associated with the year 3327.
Seriously, though, if you wait long enough, any day will be the "worst day in history". It's almost a statistical certainty. Eventually another "worst day" in history will come along.
So these so-called "predictions" are not only useless (due to their massive built-in waffle factor), they are also, statistically speaking, meaningless.
Come on, Rusty... "My sources tell me September 27th may be significant... Also, I've since heard from the same source that the September 27th date may be associated with 2007." Since the predictions that aren't vague are almost always wrong, why do you tend to believe in one that is so vague, and can't even commit itself to a particular year?

This puts me in a dilemma....my consultant clairvoyant says it`s Tuesday,my tarot reader insists it`s all happening on Friday and the tea leaves in my cup point to something funny going on this Wednesday..........hmmm,maybe I should change the brand........or start reading coffee grains for a more informed view........hmmm,I wonder what Ruben across the way thinks.......... www.occultopedia.com/a/ailuromancy.htm ....this may shed some light ....... ;D ................

The people who make these "predictions" like to place them far enough in the future so that maybe we will forget about them. It isn't being right that matters to them... it's making the prediction. The prediction sells books and videos, not the final outcome.

I think you`ve hit the nail on the head here L.O and there`s a serious point to be made in that a lot of people are susceptible to believing this stuff.........I personally know people who`s lives revolve around such nonsense and they literally don`t move without a referral to some charlatan or another. It crosses all intellect boundaries too, to include (worryingly) leader types! Another ludicrous claim is that there`s some sort of code written into the Bible........proved otherwise, when the same formula was used to predict almost any event, using other books.Indeed, you can use the same formula with Brer Rabbit and predict Armageddon tomorrow.
