OK, I’ve seen the occasional poster here wishing they had a new CT to debunk, so I thought I’d try my hand at making one up. Be gentle with me, this is my first attempt at woo woo thinking. The claim: The worlds radio astronomy observatories are controlled by international bankers. The “evidence”: Well, just look at the names. Green BANK, WV. Jodrell BANK, UK. Even Karl Jansky was from Red BANK, NJ and he discovered cosmic radio waves. I mean, come on. It’s just obvious! Heck, for all I know Arecibo means “off shore banking” in whatever language they speak down there in Puerto Rico (grumble grumble, untrustworthy foreigners). Pro’s and Con’s: Pro – The claim is vague enough that rational people will have a hard time knowing what to debunk about it. Pro – There is already a wealth of CT’s regarding international banking, so it has a built in audience of woo woo’s. Pro – It also has a built in defense. Anyone who disagrees has been “bought off” by the bankers. Hey, who better could afford it? Con – Well, aren’t most all CT’s just a big con anyway? So, what do you think? A couple of isolated facts, a simple coincidence, some wildly unfounded speculation, strung together they might be able to convince the average Jerry Springer viewer. Or at least give a laugh. Enjoy!

Can’t argue with that kind of logic, you have found your calling in life.
And welcome to the board, Grendels dad

Now all we need is a motive. CTs tend to be weak on that point.

Hmmm, a motive... Well, would you believe that the aliens who Jansky heard told him about some wonderful new technologies that he immediately filled patents on (under an assumed name of course). As soon as the bankers got in on the act they knew they would have to control access to our powerful new space friends or just any old scientist with a radio dish could “horn in” on the action.
The aliens have been feeding them new technologies ever since. Kaching!! And because you need a decent (read that expensive) set of gear to hear the aliens, everyone needs a loan to get set up. And who do you get a loan from? Why the bankers of course. As long as they control the access to the equipment they control who can get access to the new technologies. Jeez, this stuff almost writes itself.

Haha, nice one.
I actually have seriously been thinking of a phoney (spelling?) conspiracy theory. I will present it to you skeptic non-believing nitwits*.
* Please do not ban me for feeling insulted, it was kind of a joke.
EDIT: lol, I accidentally put spelling? in large letters!

I actually have seriously been thinking of a phoney (spelling?) conspiracy theory. The word you want is phony. Sounds like an amusing passtime

"Phoney" is an acceptable alternative, in fact Chambers lists it first...

Hey I'm from red bank too, how do I join in on this conspiracy? Does it pay well? (haven't been getting my moon hoax paychecks lately)

Psshaw,, Isn't it obvious that TPTB are attempting to avoid panic in the streets before the Rigelians attack. Of course they are building their own escape ship on the dark side of the Moon. The Illuminati and their kin will be halfway to the Orion Nebula before the Rigelians get here and subjugate the rest of us, using some as slave labor and the rest as food.

Echnaton,
Thanks for the welcome aboard. I’ve been a lurker for a few months, and have enjoyed some of the discussions quite a bit.
Phunk,
All you need to do is ask the teller next time you are at the bank. Of course you will need to tell them the secret password.
Halcyon Dayz,
I dashed off the motivation reply fairly quickly, but on reflection it fits nicely with the whole CT mindset (at least as I see it). The aliens angle plays well, sort of like the bankers bit. It plays into pre-existing CT beliefs, so it has a built in audience ready to believe. Their sheer numbers lending “credibility” to the endeavor, even though none of them have heard of my “theory”. Aren’t CTs great? None of those pesky rules about evidence or even reality need to enter into the picture.
And even though I stole the alien technology providing revenue part from Men in Black that is still a plus. Psychologists and marketing departments the world over have long known that if you want a message to be believed you just need to keep repeating it. And having a basic premise in a CT repeated a half dozen times a year on various cable channels can’t hurt.
If I can keep this up, and learn to completely shed my conscience, I might get a book deal out of this….

Motive?
Easy. The internantional bankers seized control of the world's radio telescopes in order to ensure the success of the Apollo Hoax. Don't believe me? How else would you explain all those people who claimed to track the spacecraft on their journeys?
International Banking!
Now we just need a motive for the international bankers to fake a Moon Project. My bet is so they would have an excuse to sell surplus American wheat to the Soviets.
Don't ask me how that works; I'm not an international banker. But when you think about it, it's the only explanation that makes sense.
Conveniently, it also explains what's going on with those HAM radio operators...

I wan't a new telescope. How do I apply to the Vatican for the money? Is there a form to fill in? Do I have to send them copies of all my observations? Do they tell me what to observe in the first place?
