Turbonium, I've just noticed that on another forum you have just admitted to fabricating evidence as a joke. Why should we take you seriously here? I suppose I should be surprised at this, but in reality, I'm not. You've been busted, Turbonium. I plead the 5th!! Spying on me on other forums, waiting for the chance to pounce!! To clear up the matter, I had a post which included things like this...... For example, space radiation can be lethal nowadays. In 1969, it was just as lethal. But, since we didn't know that, it wasn't that big a deal. In fact, it was during the Gemini program in the mid-60's when NASA coined their now-famous phrase...."What you don't know can't hurt you!"I assumed that the average person would find such comments were so silly, that putting a smiley-face at the end of it seemed quite unnecessary. The same thing happened here, on the BAUT forum (my posts in bold, selected responses in italics).... www.bautforum.com/showpost.php?p=795041&postcount=85Big Oil and auto makers are all run by money-grubbing Ferengis. Every so often, some brilliant underling from R & D comes into a Board of Directors meeting at Ford or GM. He thinks he'll wow the head honchos with his amazing new gas-free car (often they will run on manure) that is so low-maintenance, it will outlive the owner.
Much to his surprise, the poor sap is met with scowls, a few derisive comments such as, "Where is the profit in this nonsense, Human?", and is summarily executed. The body is never found.
The same thing has been going on for decades."Interesting hypothesis. Got any evidence?" - Lonewulf Plenty. How many gas-free cars do you see on your local streets? Do you see any cars that can run for decades without needing any repairs or maintenance? But the clincher for me was the secretly taken photos of the Unocal Ferengis, giddily playing on a mountain of gold-pressed latinum inside a gigantic vault!Guys, guys, guys, I can't be the only one here to see that Turbonium isn't serious.? - BigDon I agree with PW. I thought Turbonium's response was quite funny! Ferengis indeed...I'm sure he was jus playing..." - peter eldergill Some people understood that I wasn't serious about Ferengis and gold-pressed latinum. But others, sad to say, did not. Without a smiley-face, it seems talking about Ferengis is a very serious matter. Btw, in that same thread, JayUtah made this comment... "Or maybe our shape-shifting alien overloards didn't want us using their "pure" electronic propulsion."....and did not add a smiley face after it.!! Nobody took him to task on that comment. I wonder if it's because everybody figured out it was a joke (despite the lack of a smiley-face), or because everybody took it seriously, and accepted it as true. However, his comments go far beyond that. Since he, like myself, failed to add the now-mandatory smiley-face, it could be assumed by some people (such as those who challenged me about Ferengis), that he was indeed quite serious about shape-shifting alien overlords. So, gwiz..... If you accuse me of "fabricating evidence as a joke", do you have the nerve to accuse our illustrious JayUtah of the same charge?? I assume you were being serious, since you did not add a smiley-face! GrandLunar - you added a "spy-face" to your post. I am unsure whether or not this qualifies as a "smiley-face", and thus meant to be taken in jest. Perhaps you could clarify this matter for me. ** ** ** **The above smiley faces hereby absolve the author of this post from any mistaken assumptions about it's intent.

I assume you were being serious, since you did not add a smiley-face! The trouble was that your posts on UM were well within the normal sort of behaviour of people trying to prove the hoax theory, bringing up several of the usual arguments. Your fabricated quote was in fact mild compared with what some people claim about NASA. In contrast, Jay's post was so far out of his normal reasoned style as to be obviously funny. If you hadn't been challenged would you have admitted that your facts were fabricated?

If you hadn't been challenged would you have admitted that your facts were fabricated? Please.. "What you don't know can't hurt you", was coined by NASA during the Gemini program. Why? Well, to help the astronauts deal with the unknown hazards of space radiation, of course. I never thought I'd be "challenged" on that one! Some astute people at BAUT "challenged" me about Ferengis, too. But, I have yet to admit those "facts were fabricated"!! P.S.....I'll let you in on something...that was just meant as a joke, too. Don't tell anybody.

Let's look at it in context:
Shall we have a vote? Who thinks it is in an apparently serious post?

I think it would be taken as serious.
I can also see most of the HB mistakes in it, starting by claiming that Apollo wasn't announced until 1961. Since the planning was started in 1958, approved in Jan 1960, and announced in mid-1960, the JFK date is still as wrong as it ever was.
It's also obvious to anyone that bothers to read up on the new missions why it'll take two rockets, but I have long since come to realise that nothing gets into Turbonium's head that Turbonium doesn't want to get in there. As a case of Deliberate Ignorance, Turbonium is a prime example.

Looks like the sort of post an HB would make after the normal study and research of the subject found in their typical posts...that is, little to none. Seems perfectly "routine" to me. But it;s interesting to note that when we can't tell a joke from a serious post, there's something very wrong somewhere...

The code calls the face "cool", so that would make it "cool face".
And I'll leave it to you to figure it out. After all, you seem so good at analyzing the collaspe of the WTCs, that my post should be a cinch for you. Right?

Shall we have a vote? Who thinks it is in an apparently serious post? At the very least, the same people who challenged me on Ferengis. Btw, I must commend you on making this issue a top priority. Very few people would have understood that it has much greater relevance and importance than the actual thread topic.

Well, it's just that anyone with even a drop of objectivity has realized (over and over and over again) just how foolish the CT arguments are, so we can afford to distract and amuse ourselves other ways.
