www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,21699526-2703,00.html Lovely story - a kids' TV show screening in the Gaza Strip, with a colourful backdrop, and a host dressed as a large friendly animal with a squeaky voice. Only problem is the content...

Yeah, and that ol' Mickey, there, is unlicensed. As Jon Stewart put it on tonight's Daily Show, messing with Israel is one thing, but if you mess with Disney, you're asking for it. (That's a paraphrase; he probably worded it better.)

Bah, that corporate rodent rightfully should've fallen into the public domain 4 years ago, anyway.

Here are some excerpts from the program courtesy of the Middle East Media Research Institute.(MEMRI). This is sick stuff, teaching children to want to grow up so they can blow themselves up and kill others. MEMRI also has a link to the video if lionking wants to comment on the translation. And I thought Joe Camel was bad for kids.

remember that the Palestinian government spoke against this act. By the way, there is a Holywood winning documentary something that contains 101 in its title. There was something about it in the film and it is said that it is well done and speaks to the americans about the palestinian suffering in a touching way. I hope you can watch it.

Lionking, I for one would respect your opinion more if instead of making excuses "remember the Palestinian government spoke against this" you had condemned this program as the psychotic hate speech that it is.

We (and I mean humanity) are worse off than I think we want to think.

I'm sorry if I misjudged you. Perhaps you should have repeated that disclaimer to begin with, since this is a new thread.

I wonder what the bad mickey looks like. Also, I noticed at the bottom of the article that Hammas does not like the cartoon thingy an they think it is not a good thing.

Well, the broadcast it on their own TV station, so if they don't like if they can certainly pull the show. if Hamass allows the character, then at least they are giving a passive nod to Walt Disney's effectiveness in attracting kids.

Bah, that corporate rodent rightfully should've fallen into the public domain 4 years ago, anyway. Disney has a lot to loose if their control over Mickey disappears. They can spend a large amount of money to buy whoever they need to to protect him from becoming public domain. By the way, wasn't Congressman Bono involved in a mysterious "accidental" death.

That is certainly good. But it doesn't change the reality that at least segments of Hamas use propaganda to influence children to want to grow up and become murderers.

Bah, that corporate rodent rightfully should've fallen into the public domain 4 years ago, anyway. Shoulda but didn'a. I'd believe your protests more if you weren't so eager to blame all the problems in that region on the Jews, lionking.
