The TSR2, and the XFV-12A. The XFV-12A? An aircraft with a big design fault that meant it never got off the ground? Yep - it looked great.

Bell X1 - I love the colour, and it looks like a rocket. It kind of was a rocket... and supersonic without swept wings is still amazing.

Maybe obvious, but the SR-71 Blackbird is a personal favourite, and I'm quite partial to the XB-70 Valkyrie.

I was stationed at RAF Mildenhall, back in my Reagan-era AF enlistment. I have a soft spot for the window-rattling take-off of the SR-71.
I made models of ALL the ones Jason and ipearse mention, as a kid. I like those.
But, my all-time favorite aircraft is the C-130.

I've built a few of them too, and still working on others... I fly them with Flight Sim too... about as near as I'll ever get!

On the Vulcan side as well, here. Cracking read in Vulcan 607 btw. Certainly a lover of the Buccaneer and seeing the film of its red flag bombing run befuddling the defenders. Memory says it was sub 50 feet but it was a very long time ago. Oh and the Lightning. I would also have the Lancaster in my list along with the Spit.
Oh, and Concorde. Seeing that take off as if its heading to the sky for a fight with knuckle dusters on.

As Jason also had as his choices the SR-71 Blackbird and XB-70 Valkyrie. They are just oh so very sleak and dangerous looking. Both performed well too. The Valkyrie was just a lovely aircraft trying to get built at the wrong time. For prop aircraft, the DeHaviland Beaver and the Spitfire. (Obviously for widely different reasons) For transport aircraft the C-130 Hercules, its just such a versetile workhorse. for specialty aircarft the CL-415 water bomber becuase I have some nationalistic pride. There are bigger water bomber craft but for the price of them you can have a small fleet of 415's that do not have to land at an airport to reload.

That would be right, it was designed to skim the waves. I was on a Leander in the North Sea while a Buc 'engaged' us in an Air Defence exercise while we were 'Working Up' after a refit. It was certainly coming in below the height of the mast head.

That's as maybe, but the Kuchemann carrots all over the wings don't do it any favours...
