Interesting story. Its good to be reminded that no matter how much we know we really know very little. There are more mysteries to the universe than one can imagine.

An invisible force outside the observable universe drawing matter to itself? Must be Azathoth.

Raises the possibility of observing the non-observable universe by its gravitational effect on the observable universe - or am I missing something?

Raises the possibility of observing the non-observable universe by its gravitational effect on the observable universe - or am I missing something? that's true, but our curiosity wants to know what is this non-observable and unknown until now.. is it a Sun? If so, does this mean we are going to burn at sometime? are there any planets around it that have life? if not, can we discover what is it? can we observe and create more powerful telescopes [not like Hubble that can't see the number of the LRV ] ? would this answer questions about our past and the history of Earth and universe and matter? indeed interesting..

I think we're talking about really large-scale objects here rather than just Suns and planets. More like the way that galactic super-clusters are arranged in filaments across the inter-filament voids on a scale of billions of light-years.
