I just got a personal message from someone on IMDB who I asked about the Apollo hoax (they had been asked for evidence and refused to give any and then kept interrupting other peoples' threads, so I asked them a few questions in a PM) and I'm not going to post the full text of it or anything because I know it's against the rules but the person said I was "petrified" by their beliefs and that I was trying to "stifle and silence curious-minded patriots." And they said that maybe I worked for the government and that they could "understand you're protecting their invested sham, and hey, you're getting paid." They also said maybe it was personal and my "very identity is in jeopardy by the implication that man never reached the moon." I don't even know what that part means but the rest of it seems very paranoid. I guess I should be amused since I don't even live in the United States and I don't have a scientific background, so if the American government needed disinformation agents, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't ask me. But I'm feeling slightly freaked out by this anyway.

Welcome to the club. I think most of us have been acused if working for the US Govt. I have had some tell me they don't believe I'm a New Zealander, and others decide that while I might live in New Zealand, well the US Government has agents living all over the world specifically for that reason. There are a lot of paranoid CT's out there.

But I'm feeling slightly freaked out by this anyway. Yes, just to think about it, people like that are allowed to vote...

Worse yet, they're allowed to breed! I know that is meant in jest (at least I hope), but that really freaks me out. Seriously, that is the ultimate 'sins of the father passing onto the son' because there isn't any son. Just because these people think the stupid, doesn't mean there children will. I am sorry, but the very idea sickens me.

For me, the silly 'government agent' accusations are just another example of how easily many CTs believe what they want to believe, untroubled by the lack of any real evidence to justify it.
I've slightly lost interest in them as their arguments are just so repetitive – though it's still amusing to watch yet another one claim to be 'thinking outside the box', to start calling other people 'sheep', and then repeat all the usual misunderstandings, never realising the irony involved.
I tend to view them now simply as people with poor thinking skills who lack the ability to assess evidence rationally or coherently.

Just admit it to him: Yes, you are a paid government disinformation agent, and since he has blown your cover, his IP address has been traced and an extermination squad will soon be appearing at his house.

That's a great tactic! I wonder if they would start getting paranoid - hearing bumps in the night, unexpected knocks at the door...

I've already been accused of being a nazi, and planning the hijack of forums. For at least two times, I've also been accused of not having created my own forum.
And right now, in orkut, I've got one or two trolls creating profiles with my icon and user name, and spreading that I harass HBs and "command" my forum friends to do the same. Unfortunately, as you may expect, many HB do believe in that.
