I don't think anyone chooses to be a pedophile either though. I'm not going to defend their behaviour because it doesn't involve consenting adults, but I don't believe pedophiles choose to find children attractive. A good argument could be made on that basis that they should be in mental facilities being treated rather than in prisons, and that those who discover they have a problem with sexual attraction towards children should receive therapy to combat it. So do you object to pedophiles going to prison rather than a mental facility? Or do you believe pedophilia is hard-coded and anyone who suffers form it is basically doomed and can only be locked away so they don't harm others? And where we disagree is in the idea that sexual attraction cannot be learned or altered. Granted, it should be criminal because it harms minors or the unwilling, but if the basis of their behavior is uncontrollable instinct then it should be treated, not punished, right? It's the same issue for rapists as for pedophiles. Can their behavior be changed or can they only be locked away?

I think you've got a bit of a "chicken or the egg" problem with your argument. Which came first... individual gay people, or the "gay community"? How could there be a gay community without there being gay people first? If there was at one time no gay community to influence people how did it come into existence? How did smoking become a habit before there was a cigarette industry to advertise it? Apparently someone at some point decided to try inhaling the smoke of burning leaves, and he got enough of his buddies interested in the experience to form a community. Things grew from there.

At least two Mormons have now lost their jobs because of their support of Proposition 8. Scott Eckern was director of the nonprofit California Musical Theatre in Sacramento, and Richard Raddon was the director of the LA Film Festival. Both were forced to resign after bloggers found their names as contributors to Proposition 8. The CEO of Cinemark Theaters, Alan Stock, is their next target. And of course the LDS Church is now being investigated to determine if they disclosed all contributions the Church made.
Sore losers. Aren't pro-gay right people supposed to be advocates of tolerance?

Aren't pro-gay right people supposed to be advocates of tolerance? I'd think most are, I know I am. Obviously not all. It might even more about "payback" than it is about the real issue. Politics at it's worst and most base I'm afraid.
