WARNING: THE MERMAID IS REALLY UGLY , not a one you see in the cartoon The Little Mermaid www.adamuae.ae/vb/showthread.php?t=1239It is said they found it in Loulou island in Abou Dhabi, Emirates. I would like to ask your opinion about the photos

I can't see any pictures following your link, and I assuredly can't search through the site myself!

I'd go with a beheaded fish in which somebody inserted a monkey torso. Why they glued the fish's fins to the monkey's head is beyond me. I like the eyes, though.

I'm amused by that first address, Laurel, because my initial thought was, "I bet it's a Feejee Mermaid." I wasn't going to say so without seeing the picture, though.

Thanks Laurel. I knew there is something faked because the eyes are in good condition and the nose is decomposed which is impossible. besides, such a creature would have created the news if it was true.

It looks like rubber to me - notice how the arms are stuck in one position that looks natural while it's face up but are arched up in the air with the photo that is face down.

That's not a mermaid at all - its a leftover prop from a Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode.

The close-up on the face and torso does look like it's rubber textured to simulate fish skin (and not very well). I still think there's half a dead monkey under that, I mean the transition from fish to simian is too badly done to be actual workmanship.

It looks a little bit like Jar Jar Binks to me... but not quite as realistic looking.
