I just got back from the pub and had a drink in his name - the worst thing that happened on his watch was Apollo 13! Legend!

Just read his book....very very interesting and entertaining to say at least. Wendt's book is the one that describes a rather cruel practical joke that Alan Shepard pulled on somebody, right? As I recall, Shepard let somebody borrow his car, then called NASA security and reported it stolen. As a joke.
