I think his credibility gets exaggerated because he's a scientist. As though scientists never have totally crazy notions.

I'd love to believe in things like the 'Flatwoods Monster' or aliens in freezers but reality intrudes. Stanton Friedman, like all fanciful ET=UFO peddlers, use "cover-ups" as a crutch to avoid the burden of evidence. I've noticed these type of peddlers don't seem to have all that much trouble with 'cover-ups' until it's "put up" time.

There is a difference between being trained as a scientist and acting as one. Freedman may have the training but is know for his decidedly unscientific behaviors.

Friedman's resume is waved like a pennant in an example of the 'appeal to authority' approach taken by many that lack the kind of straightforward evidence that they need to certify whatever it is they are peddling. While not attacking Mr. Friedman's credentials per se, I fail to see how being a "nuclear physicist" makes his ufological/conspiratorial notions any more credible.

I am curious. If you are a "professional UFOlogist" then there should be some definitive work that you can be judged upon?

When it becomes common knowledge, they will have to erect a bronze statue of Stanton Freidman in honor of all the work he has done in this field.
