Wow. I totally missed that. Well, they still have about 7 months to fix it before the movie is released in July.

Not only that, but it's pointed in the wrong direction isn't it? I thought the CSM main engine was pointed towards the moon so they could fire it in order to slow down into lunar orbit?
Also in the sequence, they have the CSM main engine on. I don't think that's correct either.
We need to start a letter campaign!!! ;D

I'm wondering if maybe the trailer is compressing two events into one. Maybe in the movie the alien crash site is first discovered by Apollo 8 (no LM), and then explored by Apollo 11.

For my theory to work Michael Bay would have to know Apollo 8 didn't have a LM. I have my doubts.

It has to overcome an even greater hurdle; the producers (and presumably M. Bay) caring enough to get "little details" right when a whole extra 3D model and re-rendering those scenes could cost them money.

Too funny!! Talk about getting Apollo wrong!! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheila_Jackson_Lee"In 1997, during a subcommittee briefing, Jackson Lee asked a NASA scientist if the Mars Pathfinder had photographed the flag that Neil Armstrong had left on the moon ..."God bless our Congress!

The Honorable Ms Lee is well known in her home town for such gaffs, all while masquerading as an expert on constitutional law and almost everything else. However her constituents seem very happy with her.

I love the close up of the astronauts boot as it hits the ground. Causing a nice billowing cloud of dust that hangs in the air. Also, the beams of light coming from their flashlights. Pretty dusty for being in a vacuum. If anything this bites HB's on the ass when it comes to faking the Apollo missions. If it can't be done today with 21st Century effects, then how the hell could it be done in the 60's? It's amazing just how many obvious mistakes there are just in the trailer. And this isn't the first time a Transformers trailer got things so horribly wrong when it comes to space exploration. A trailer for the first movie depicted the Beagle 2 Rover encountering a Transformer on Mars. Here it is, for anyone who didn't see it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFvUdt9BQhU

I love it when conspiracy theorists cite the movies 2001 and Capricorn One as "proof" that the moon landings could have been faked. Good Lord, there are so many technical flaws in both movies that any claims that the directors could have used their "expertise" to fake the moon landings is beyond laughable.

I just saw our friend straydog02 over on YT claim that the movie "Moon" did a better job faking the surface of the moon than NASA did during Apollo. I do wonder if that includes the gravity field inside the lunar mining station.
