The duct tape didn't have to withstand anything for very long. They were only on the surface three (Earth) days during the lunar morning. And the tape didn't even have to last that long, they did the fix before the beginning of the second EVA, so it only had to last between then and the end of the third. They finished the fix at 141:13:54 and final parking of the Rover was at 170:01:00, so it had to last just 28 hours, 47 mins, and 6 seconds.

Is a troll's actions any better because you actually agree with his statements? If the issue was whether landing a man on the moon was a worthwhile achievement or a major waste of money, I'd agree with you. My personal feeling is strongly toward the former, but I recognize that it's a matter of opinion on which reasonable people can disagree. On the other hand, the question of whether the Apollo landings actually happened is a question of fact. One answer is correct and the other is wrong. I don't see how it can be trolling to stand up for the facts.

I don't see how it can be trolling to stand up for the facts. Trolling is an attitude, not whether you have your facts right or wrong. The way the OP posted it is clear that he didn't come here to discuss things, he seagull posted in a way that he hoped would cause contraversy on a Pro-Hoax board. His mistake is that as this is a Pro-Landing board there is little contravery over what he said and so the attempt failed. Consider this. If you went to PFT9/11 and made a rambling statement supporting the NIST WTC 7 report and never went back to the thread, would that not be trolling just as much as dropping in at JREF and making a rambing post about how JFK was shot by the guy with the umbrella? The OP made two posts here, one starting this thread, and one a JFK thread, both are rambling, filled with personal opinion, and very light on facts. He hasn't come back and discussed either, just dumped a lot of guff on the board and fled. How doesn't this action match that of a troll?

Point taken. I think it's okay to start a discussion by expressing where you're coming from, but if he doesn't come back to continue the discussion in good faith then I agree that would be trolling.

There is a youtube user channel named georgevreelandhill. He has a video dedicated to the Apollo 1 crew. I tried to leave a comment explaining the apollohoax.net denizens and inviting him back but it wouldn't go through. Oh, well.

Duct, duck.... whatever its misnomer around the globe, I have seen it used for many applications including holding cables to an access road. It was dry so the tape stuck and during the week I replaced the tape once so it had all manor of cars and delivery vans driving over it. I have just bough a wallet made of the stuff, I kid you not Marketed as made of duct tape. Wonder how long it will last and can I get a shirt made of the stuff? Sans sticky stuff obviously.

A shirt? Adhesive or not that would be a garment that would leave you sticky underneath.

Ah, I miss the bit where it says the wallet has a life time warranty. Sorry.
So I was on for a shirt for life. Being as fashion conscious as a bit of gravel on the sea bed, not worried about it not fitting in......
And yep, it is the ducti. Thought why not, give it a go.

A friend in college wore a dress of duct tape and carried a bubble-wrap purse to a Halloween party. There is also a Duck Tape scholarship program which requires a couple to go to prom wearing Duck Tape (the brand name) formals. The way you do it is to make cloth--you lay out strips sticky side-up going one way and sticky side-down going the other.

We have a full blown social (and charitable) event dedicated to duct tape. The 12th Annual Duct Tape Ball was just held on Feb 5th, 2011.
