Interesting idea, does have the slight problem that we sound too scary then aliens might decide to preemptively remove the threat. No amount of PR will stop a relativistic kinetic kill swarm, Nicoll-Dyson laser, or or any of the various other fun ways in which an advanced civilization can remove a threat from interstellar ranges (or for the Nicoll-Dyson laser potentially intergalactic ranges).

But calling ourselves Megalon XIV might imply that we can't count and therefore suggest vulnerability due to our innumeracy.

But calling ourselves Megalon XIV might imply that we can't count and therefore suggest vulnerability due to our innumeracy. Or it would imply that we have 13 friends to back us up in a fight. (But yeah... we'd have to be including moons for it to reach 14 Megalons. I just woke up. )
