Shatner was team captain on a BBC 'comedy' celeb Sci Fi panel game in the 90s. Bill Bailey was the chairman .Can't rememebr what it was called tho. He did a series of Cerial ads in the UK as well. And don't forget the 1st Church of Shatnerology

I guess that resolves the eternal "Star Wars vs. Star Trek" debate. Shatner for the win!

It's actually from the AFI tribute to George Lucas. Shatner walks onto the stage and says "Star Trek changed everything. And aren't these conventions wonderful?" He then pulls out the invitation and realizes it isn't a Star Trek convention. After almost getting pulled off the stage by a couple of Stormtroopers he sings a song in true Shatner fashion... by speaking it.

I thought it was great when I picked up ST3:Search for Spock, and ST4:The Voyage home last month for 6.99 each at Future Shop. Imagine my delight today: ST1 and ST2:The Wrath of Khan for five bucks each at Walmart. The rest of the Star Trek movies I don't especially care for. A lot of people make fun of Shatners acting style, but sometimes an actor has a presence onscreen that transcends talent. Bruce Willis has that too. Even William Smith has it. (No, not WILL Smith!) Plus Shatner can sing - or talksing - or voice or something. youtube.com/watch?v=MVbv6r_tKnE&feature=relatedEDIT: Here's a few things I didn't know about Will Smith:: William Smith was born in Columbia, Missouri on Rolling Acres, a Hereford cattle ranch. After losing everything to the Depression and the dust bowl, the Smith family moved to California. Bill became a studio extra, appearing in many films as a child performer. After high school, he joined the Air Force. Being fluent in five languages, he was assigned overseas to the N.S.A. Security Squadron 6907, active in military intelligence during the Korean war.
After receiving a Purple Heart for his military duty, Smith studied at the Sorbonne in Paris, the University of Munich and Syracuse University. Graduating cum laude at UCLA, he received a Masters in Russian Area Studies. With forty hours on his doctorate, he dropped out of academia and was put under contract by MGM.
Smith soon gained recognition and went on to become one of Hollywood's best known character actors. A true legend in the business, this World Arm Wrestling Champion and sports record holder continues his acting career and has become an avid poet of note. www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Park/4288/smithbiography.htmlHe played mostly toughman roles, like Falconetti in Rich Man, Poor Man. But in addtion to that he: Was at one time the 91kg World Arm Wrestling Champion Won Air Force weightlifting championship. Had a 31-1 record as an amateur boxer. Studied martial arts. Played semi-pro football in Germany Competed in motocross and downhill ski events. Had a BA from Syracuse. A Masters Degree in Russian studies at UCLA. Taught Russian at UCLA. Studied at Sorbonne in Paris and the University of Munich. Was fluent in Russian, Serbo-Croatian, French and German. Fought in the Korean War as a Russian intercept interrogator. Won the Purple Heart. Had both CIA and NSA clearance. But he lost his security clearance when he married a French actress. oh, and he was also an actor!
