"Weird or What" hosted by William Shatner debuts tonight at 10:00 in Canada on the History Channel. I think it might be on the Discovery channel in the U.S.
Variety” says: “Weird or What” will examine and analyze some of the weirdest unsolved cases around the world — ranging from paranormal phenomena, medical oddities and bizarre natural disasters.” Shatner said the show would present science in a “light-hearted, jaunty way.”

It is the second in command of the Enterprise that got stuck doing hokum shows. Lets hope this one doesn't follow in that vane. The “light-hearted, jaunty" at least is a good start on not being a paranormal melodrama.

Quote from Mr. Shatner on tonight's "William Shatner's Weird or What?"
"The Pacific ocean is so large, it hurts my brain to even think about it"

Here is some Shatner trivia. We all know that as Kirk, he played in Star Trek: The Motion Picture, a film featuring the synthetic language of Klingon. But what 1966 film did he star as the leading man that also featured a synthetic language and what language was it? Your right! It was the 1966 effort Incubus, which was filmed in Esperanto. The tag line presaged his role several years later as Kirk. "On a strange island inhabited by demons and spirits, a man battles the forces of evil. " It has been recently released on DVD and is available from Netflix.

Hey, I was watching that movie last Saturday night. I said to my wife, "Hey, this is really weird, there's this sixties movie on with William Shatner, and he's speaking Italian!". Hey, it sounded like Italian...

If we're talking wierd movies in the past resumes of Star Trek actors, one need go no further than DeForest Kelley's turn in Night of the Lepus. An Arizona town is attacked by giant, fluffy killer rabbits! With Janet Leigh and Rory Calhoun.

I remember many(oh so many!) years ago, reading Tek Wars and found it quite a good sci-fi read.
Has anyone else read some of his Tek fiction stuff?
