JayUtah explained on the Bad Astronomy BB that he would have addressed those "experiments" if he had known about it.
Unfortunately he was not told about them.

Yeah, I don't fault them for not telling me. I was only one small part of a production they wrote and produced with certain expectations in mind. I didn't expect them to ask me to refute everything they would encounter, and they didn't expect me to do it either. We actually filmed a lot more stuff than was actually shown. For example, I explained about cold welding and why the flagpole didn't extend fully. That didn't make the cut. That's simply what happens when you make this sort of film -- or any film.

Ralph Rene takes a rubber glove and puts it into a vacuum chamber.
He then shows how hard it is to close the fist and move the fingers when the chamber is evacuated, because the glove is blown up by the pressure difference like a baloon.
This is proof, to him, that the Apollo mission were hoaxed.

Of course he never showed what his experiment has to do with the actual equipment used (hint: nothing).

Ralph Rene claims that when the gloves are pressurized dexterity is lost, thus the astronauts were be unable to perform the purported tasks. To demonstrate his claim he has built a glove box to which is attached a vacuum pump. He evacuates the air from the box and then shows how difficult it is to flex the glove.

I see several problems with his experiment. Firstly, the glove is not the type used by the astronauts, hence the whole experiment is invalid. The glove looks like it might be an electrical lineman's glove, which of course is not intended to be used in this way. The Apollo gloves were made with constant-volume joints to permit flexing while under pressure. Secondly, the spacesuits operated at a pressure of about 3.7 PSI. Rene never says what the pressure inside the box is, but if he draws it below 11 PSI then he's creating a greater pressure differential then the gloves needed to operate at, thus the experiment is again invalid. Thirdly, Rene said something about the astronauts having to manipulate "small screws". To my knowledge, this is false. Rene is assigning to the astronauts tasks they were not required to perform.

Now, Ralph Rene argued that the engine of the LM should have blown the hell out of the lunar ground on landing.
To "demonstrate" this, he used a leafblower on some dirt.

Of course he didn't think to mention that a rocket engine in vacuum has little to do with a leafblower in atmosphere.

A more appropriate experiment would have been water from a hose on gravel and sand.

It fits on one CD.

OK. I have plenty of blank CDs lying around (I recently started saving files on DVD Rs).
Unfortunately the quality is not high because of the compression, and I never bothered re-recording the show at a higher quality.

I think it depends on the DVD player.
However, I never had problems playing the file in WMP 10.

Yey I got this and it did play, for the most part in my DVD player.

So much more civilised doing that without MSN popping up or having to wiggle a mouse to avoid the power shut off.

This now leads me to a few questions, maybe JayUtah or others can shed some light on.

Kaysing, was a head technical author for Rocketdyne or something along those lines. What technical cudos / clout does that give him, i.e would these be reasonable qualifications for an "expert Witness"

Or is this claiming to be a Sanitation maintenance Consultant (Plumber to you and me)

The experiments in the desert were with a small spotlight, as the point source. The sun is a lot bigger, but further away. Have HB'ers tried to use that to discount JayUtahs cute demolition of their little conspiracy theories.

Was Patrick forward thinking when he asked about the stars at the press conference with the Apollo 11 crew or what.

Were the stars really good in the desert where JayUtah filmed his stuff. Is it a good place to go with a telescope away from the light polution of the city.

Why doesn't JayUtah take all his Clavius material and make a book out of it, I am sure a number of us would stump up for a copy

Pretty much rubbish, and as far as I understand, he left prior to most of the Apollo work thugh Jy or Bob may correct me on that.

The "small" spotlight was the largest currently availible for use as a single light, so anything used in a "hoax" would have been smaller. I haven't heard anything frm the Hoax Proponents as of yet.

Anywhere out of the city lights is good. I'm bout 10 minutes ut of the local city and the sky is incredible
