And we all know that Neil Armstroing is the greatest keeper of the hoax secret there is, right? Judging from his general demeanour I would say that was fair comment. The comment was a joke. That you didn't seem to get that is somewhat telling. Judging from Neil Armstrong's general demeanor, one can only really say that he has not in any way allowed his "celebrity" effect him in the least. Mr. Armstrong has borne the brunt of unwanted media attention, and his status as the first man to set foot on another world, with a grace, dignity, and humility that is almost inhuman. Despite the fact that his crew in a large way "lucked out" at getting the first lunar landing mission, and Neil just happened to be the CDR of that flight--thus making him the first on the moon--the fact is that if NASA had actually had to pick someone to serve this function, they couldn't have picked anyone better to do it than Neil Armstrong. If one actually pays any attention to Mr. Armstrong and the manner in which he has conducted his life, one would learn something about how to act.

So I take it that when Neil Arsmtrong gives lectures and talks at universities all around the world, this is clear evidence of him hiding from public view, right?

Exactly. He's so ashamed of it, he has to hide amongst those that are all in on it.

The general opinion of those that knew him prior to his joining NASA, is no. He's always been a private, shy and quiet guy…. That is why the picked him to be the keeper of such secrets, don’t you know.
