Cosmic Dave was arguing that same theory years ago on BABB, and was obviously and promptly shot down by people who argued correctly that a satellite would have to obey the laws of orbital mechanics and could not arbitrarily position itself in the sky so as to emit a signal purporting to come from the moon. It's predictably disappointing to see that Dave, in his search for "truth", has simply gone to find a more gullible audience; it's clear he has no intention of attempting to reconcile his ideas with the facts.

I realise the Doppler Effects would be missing from a repeater satellite at the LaGrange point, but I didn't want to over-complicate things. (Well, to be honest, I didn't remember until after I'd posted, but the argument remains the same.)
Anyway, I've now called Dave to explain why Apollo was impossible. He's kept up a steady supply of "could have" explanations for how various parts of Apollo "could have" been faked. But he hasn't yet explained why it was necessary.
For that matter, he still hasn't explained how the lunar samples were recovered...
*sigh*

Just ask him if the aliens they found there were faked too?
