Tried to access the Loose Change forum today and got the message:
Sorry, you are not permitted to use this board.
No warning, no further explanation. I can't even view the forum. Seems a strange way for a bunch of independant thinkers to behave.

Loose Change is officially in "stick fingers in ears go LA LA LA LA" mode now.

Pity, it was a bundle of laughs. The response to that page of astronomical observations of Apollo: www.astr.ua.edu/keel/space/apollo.htmlwas to suggest that the world's astronomers had been "bought". It was working up to the point where everybody was in on the hoax except them. Then there was the guy who thought the doubled-speed EVA clips which looked like earth normal movement were irrefutable evidence for a hoax. When it was pointed out that they were only short clips from very long takes which didn't look at all normal speeded up, he came up with the theory that the fakers had varied the film speed during the takes. I'd love to see anyone try that: "Wind it faster, Fred, Neil's going to do a jump".

Hmmm... same thing has happened to me. I've mailed the admins for an explanation or re-instatement, I'll let you know the outcome. Thought they were all for freedom and the truth?

They have made it quite clear that those who hold opposing views are not welcome. Of course, those on the fence are welcome, as long as they eventually agree with them. Anybody who fails to become convinced of a government plot will be banned as well. It sounds like an exaggeration, no? Unfortunately, yesterday before the ban that was pretty much what a couple threads were saying. EDITED for grammar

Thought they were all for freedom and the truth? Freedom to accept what they say is the truth, otherwise goodbye.

I just checked this morning and I have not been banned. It doesn't surprise me that some have though. I was accused by a moderator there of "disappearing" after not posting to the thread for a whole 6 hours. Apparently I shouldn't have gone to work.

Worked for me too - what was that all about? Haven't a clue. If we were banned, I would assume it was something that would be stored on the server. I can't think of a reason why I would have been banned, so I'll go with a random error unless any further evidence comes up. Or maybe it was the MIB - they don't want us to convince HBers that the moon landing wasn't faked, otherwise, they'll start concentrating on the REAL conspiracy... <-- Don's tin hat and gets back down in the trenches -->

I'm still suspended - courtesy of johnDOH! because I brought a professional 747 captain into the forum who disputed what he said. Oh, and DOH! banned the 747 driver. And all the people who said they personally knew the driver and could vouch for his identity (DOH! initially claimed the guy wasn't even a pilot - the company that employs him would probably like to know that, because he's been driving their 747s around the skies. DOH! eventually changed his tune and tried some character assasination, claiming he couldn't be a very good pilot).
There was a massive IP banning; it took in all of Australia and New Zealand. No-one from those countries could even view the board. It also affected widespread areas around the globe.
There was some type of post from an Admin that said, in effect "If you are going to disagree then we don't want you here".
It would seem that calmer heads prevailed (eventually) and the galatic-wide IP ban was lifted. Most people that I know of who were suspended / banned are still in that situation.

This forum isn't all that friendly to those who disagree with the predominant opinions either - it's just that rather than banning them it relies on the regular members to convince them to leave.

Not at all, there are a few members who can be rude, but for the most part the people here are patient, explain things many times, and don't try to make anyone leave.

This form is boring without opposition. Someone who disagrees, but who can do so with well-argued points, is not only welcome but highly sought after. For the most part if someone is rude he's just ignored and then goes away on his own.
