But surely we are still exploring the sea bed?
Like Carovite say, only with robots. Submarines only go about 200m deep, the best Bathyspheres about 1000-2000m, nothing compared to the Trieste's voyage. No one has ever done it since, and they only did it once, and didn't take hours of film or heaps of photos. In a way the Trieste is really the companion of Apollo in that they both require massive engineering to do, went to extremely inhospitable places, and afterwards the ability to do so was lost because we'd rather stick closer to home.

And that's your idea of reasoned and intelligent scientific debate? What makes you think a "reasoned and intelligent scientific debate" is even possible with hoax believers? From what I can tell, they are not reasonable, intelligent, or scientific in any way. They appear to base their beliefs on rumours, speculation, paranoia, distrust of the US government (or any authority or expert), gullibility, ego, and even religion... but not once have I seen a hoax claim that was based on sound reasoning or science.

Two from the Apollo 13 IMDB board. Apparently, intelligent film conversation isn't the only thing that dies at IMDB.
Oh no, he's gonna "throw at us the same proof we've failed to offer concrete evidence for!"
Well, he's convinced me.
Better spelling, but still stupid:

Forget James Van Allen....I want to know more about this Van Ellen and her belt!
(Maybe it's a fan belt....she's got a van, right?)

Dr Van Allen designed and created the belts? Why didn't someone tell me this before?

Van Ellen is insecure and also very generous. She saw a world shortage of belts and decided to create one that would encircle the earth (awwww). Unfortunately, she made the belt out of a searing radiation hell, and it proved much too deadly for the squeamish astronauts. However, they were able to harness that searing radiation hell for their radiation ovens to fake the moon rocks so it all worked out okay.
