Thanks for that fai.org link Jay
Good points, interesting info there!
Just amazing how they pinned their argument on 'the Guiness book of records' .. and then they didn't actually bother to have a look in it and see if they were correct ;D ... i mean, there's a clearly marked 'space exploration' section in the book

don't know if this is a contradiction as much as it is an inaccuracy, but i didn't want to start a new thread just for it - bit of a giggle btw - off the ATS board
*Ahem*
Moon's-struck
The lunar speed record was set by the manned Apollo 16 Rover, driven by John Young... .

understand what you're saying numuse -
to be sort of specific though,
i had a discussion recently over an observance in a moon hoax video, the guy had a bit of basis for asking the question (even though it was on the premise that the whole thing was a hoax) so i offered to help look right into it. When it's purely a science question i try to get away from the 'i dont trust the government' and other anecdotal crap and focus on the problem - if i think it's a fair question that i can't answer, i'm more than happy to look into it.
So far the odditites observed have been able to be explained, all it takes is a bit of scrutiny, and even asking people who are experts in their field (and i'm not referring to debunk websites)

Is it a contradiction that HB'ers 'are open minded', yet seemingly unable to play the devil's advocate in any moonhoax discussion/argument?
Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong in my assumption there - i guess i'm just yet to see it happen (while having played the D.A. many times myself to scrutinize a hoax theory).
At the very least it would show that you're being objective?

Contradiction:-
- NASA supplied information is used (however incorrectly) to bolster CT argument
(example source - [a href="[http://educationforum.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=8688&st=60"][http://educationforum.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=8688&st=60[/a], and can supply heaps more examples)
- NASA supplied information is not considered credible as they're in on the hoax
(no example needed)

The windchill tonight here was -30. i was talking with the guys at the Milwaukee branch (of the company i work for) and they reckon that was about the temperature there too, this week. Apparently it was unusually warm there when i visited (late sept.), must have brought the Aussie weather with me ;D

I like the new layout, neat and clean. Maybe we could add 'links' to the navigation bar at the top (essentially, the recommended websites currently at the bottom of our page) - with a bit of a spiel on each link. I think there are a few that i can add. But yes, mainly, to help populate the navigation bar a little more, imho

Incidentally, I was away from work last Friday with a bout of food poisoning. Led to me damaging the Doulton for a while. In case this makes no sense, Doulton is (was?) a manufacturer of toilet bowls. it means that the results of your food poisoning are ending up in Doulton's product

[/Borat impersonation]
Hey i started a new job this week with an international company, which is based in Milwaukee.
I'm being sent over there for training in the near future - now i know this is a shot in the dark - but is there any chance that there will be any get-togethers stateside? (in the general vicinity of WI?!) ;D

most of the programming i did was prior to Windows being released - BASIC mainly, although i messed with Assembly and batch file programming. (C64 and PC)
I re-introduced myself to programming back in 2000, writing small programs in C, and more recently have messed around with Visual Basic.
I can't seem to get focused on increasing my programming knowledge unless there's a specific project that i want to do. Which i haven't gotten around to, yet unfortunately.
I would say that at this point, i'm still at beginner level (no formal training)
