The long and the short of it is papageno the get her to ask me to stop upsetting her herself is not the right attitude. Would you agree on that? Bullsh*t. If I piss someone of, I expect to hear from that person, not their boyfriend/girlfriend/mother/aunt/doctor/babysitter. If the person can't ask me themselves, then, to me, that person isn't really THAT bothered by it. By the same token, if I was pissed about something sonmeone else was doing, I would go to that person directly. Its common sense and common courtesy. If you have a problem with what I say or do, then come to me and talk to me one on one. Don't send someone else in your place. Male, female, makes no difference. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS. Cz

I'm sure most men on finding out another man was taking the piss out of his partner on then net would rush to help. I know this wasn't addressed to me but I feel the need to answer. If it were me, and my woman had caused a misunderstanding which resulted in her being given a hard time on some internet message board I would probably do the following: 1. Laugh at her for being silly enough to cause the problem in the first place. 2. Tell her its her problem and she should deal with it. 3. IF after a while it had not been cleared up, I would want to know what she did to remedy the solution. If it were handled properly and the problem still persisted, then I'd ask her if she wanted me to step in. - Your mess... you clean it up. Does he pick up your laundry, or clean up after you if you spill the cereal in the kitchen in the morning? - Most of the women that I know wouldn't want me or their man getting involved. They're - for the most part - smart enough and strong enough to deal with it on their own without me sticking my nose in where it probably doesn't belong and probably making things worse. - Its an INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD fer god's sake. SUCK IT UP and move on with your life. Chalk it up to experience and try not to be so ambiguous in the future. You want intelligent answers, ask intelligent questions. Don't assume people know what you mean, because all we have here in this type of forum are the words on the screen. And the odd cool smilie Cz

So your saying I'm an indecent women then. No, I'm saying you didn't have the balls, nerve, guts, call it what you will, for the past what? 4 MONTHS to deal with this properly on your own If a man sees that his partner is being put upon by another man he wades in. True enough, BUT, you should have the confidence enough to say to your man "Hey, this is my issue, I can deal with it" and then, MAYBE, if your approach doesn't work, MAYBE ask him to deal with it. Show a little backbone... sheeesh. Cz

Any decent man would stop doing something if a woman claimed it was causing them upset. He appears to delight in it. Any woman with any sense of self-worth would have the BALLS to ask him herself, in private first, and NOT have her BF fight her online dramas for her... Cz

Ok... I realize that what I'm about to say may have very dire consequences for my future on this board. I do realize that we are not supposed to attack the person, rather the idea / theory, and If I offend anyone but the target of this, I sincerely apologize, but this NEEDS to be said and is long overdue Now how about that meet up to discus this issue you up for that or are you too much of a coward? Seeing as its been made plain to you that your Internet actions are upsetting me and you refuse to stop i think a meeting would be good. JEZUZ CHRIST... What are you, twelve effin' years old?? You: "wahhh... you won't take down your signature... waahhh... my bf asked you to ... waahhh... actually my bf was just as big a weenie as I am being about it... wahhhh... yes I know it was months and months ago, but I'm severely emotionally disturbed....wahhh... by the way I meant to say I was disturbed by your signature and you're all a bunch of a-holes for not knowing what I was thinking at the time when I posted that incorrectly because I am so emotionally disturbed.... by all of this... waahhhh... lets meet at the park and settle this" You claim to run a board somewhere. How would YOU deal with someone who is being as petulant and childish as you are being about this...? You are not wanting to read the posts here any more. Fine. You don't want to read Papgano's sig here any more. Fine. You're tired of what you see as a "bad attitude" from Jay. Fine. Solution: LEAVE. Solves your problem, and ours.

K, well, this thread has gone from being a somewhat interesting exercise in proving the value of properly worded postings and how some things are best kept in PM's to this Cz

Ah... well, that would explain it then. Had to look at it sideways to recognize Orion, though. I remember seeing that on the Mars Rover website, I believe. Neat picture. Definitely gives one some perspective. Cz

The Gem: Hmm... dunno. To me it kinda looks like the pic was taken from inside the Orbiter, with the interior lights off, and the "stars" are simply the control panel lights reflecting off the window. Several of the "stars" seem to nicely line up in neat little rows with evenly spaced spaces between them. However, I admittedly am not too familiar with the internal arrangement of the Orbiter so there's a very good chance I'm totally wrong on this one. Cz

Anyone here remember Kevin Smith's "Mallrats"...? There's the part - actually, its really a small plot-line all to itself - about the fat guy - oops... I mean "gravimetrically challenged male character" - that has been standing infront of the Magic-Eye picture for something like 2 days trying to see the 3-D sailboat. Everyone else who comes up to him - main and minor character, even a group of school kids - can see the sailboat instantly, but the big guy just can't no matter what he does. He ends up getting rather bent out of shape that everyone BUT him can see the sailboat (trivia time: the Magic-Eye pic wasn't actually of a sailbout, but rather of several different geometric shapes - and yes, I've freeze-framed it to check ) I kinda see the HB's as the big guy - they are just not capable of seeing the truth that everyone else sees and get pissed off when everyone else around them can see it so clearly. Well, if you want to split hairs, Madison's simply increased customs duties, imposed exise duties, as well and housing, land and slavery taxes.
Lincoln's 1861 / 1862 taxes seem to be the first example of a direct tax on one's earnings.

I know there was at least discussion of an income tax, and I'm pretty sure actually one implemented, during the Civil War. I did a little googling and came up with this: Quoted from centapede.centa.com/Week-of-Mon-20040906/001309.htmlSo, if we go with 1812 being the first implementation of an income tax, the the President involved would have been James Madison. But if we go with 1861, then its Lincoln. Cz

Who was the first US president to use the concept of income tax? Teddy Roosevelt? Cz
