Oh, goody. This thread is back. At the time the Bible was written, "all the world" could quite easily have meant "all the known world." "All the Kingdoms of the Earth" could be everything from Britannia to India to Nubia, and while (if one assumed he was God, which I don't) there were other kingdoms in other places, since they couldn't get to them, why would the disciples have any reason to even think of them? Jesus may have known they were there, but why confuse people? Oh, also, from what I've read of Mormonism, yes, they believe Jesus was divine. Further, the term "rabbi" wasn't in use yet. But, in the story of "he who is without sin, cast the first stone" they call him "Rabi". And it doesn't make sense that satan would show Jesus only the kingdoms visible from a mountain top and offer them to him appart from the ones on the otherside of the Earth. Are you saying that the devil can offer Jesus some kingdoms but not nearly as many as Alexander The Great conquered? Naw, I think the story is clearly intended to be ALL the kindgoms on earth.

Besides, what would Occom's Razor have to say? That Jesus had knowledge of television when he returned to earth and magically everyone would see it on television via solar pannels would be set up all over Asia and Africa, or he just thought that the world was flat?Well considering that the Greeks, who educated the region no they didn't. They were not running a school system educating the region on their latest discoveries you are right, sort of. The Greeks -- some of the Greeks -- knew that the earth was round. And even roughly how big it was. But that knowledge was not wide spread and wasn't wide spread for hundreds of years. In fact, the very fact that the knowledge was not wide spread is used to counter my argument in saying that Jesus was speaking in terms that they could understand. But even that angle is not good since they were capable of understanding, since the Greeks -- some of them -- knew the earth was round. So why would Jesus describe the Earth as being flat? The easiest answer is that he, like many of the people at that time (dispite the fact that a few Greek scientist knew differently), he thought it was flat. Jesus was a jew and the ancient Hebrews thought of the earth as being flat and the sky was a dome above it. Just because the Greeks were in charge does not mean that the Hebrews adopted the knowledge of thier wisest researchers.

With the world's largest city in all the Americas, Brazil is not what it seems. The country is also the strongest 3rd economy in the Americas and seeing how it has paid off its debt to the IMF, it might overtake Canada soon. Your story is no more shocking than North American Indians on a reservation having TV.
The fact remains, half the popularion of China and many parts of India and Africa say that our condition on this planet is not changing soon.
Besides, what would Occom's Razor have to say? That Jesus had knowledge of television when he returned to earth and magically everyone would see it on television via solar pannels would be set up all over Asia and Africa, or he just thought that the world was flat?

I think he was just a rabi with radical ideas.
Here is why. Well, here is one important reason. He thought that the earth was flat. After he returned from his vision quest early in is ministry he told the story -- which was written down later and put in the bible -- that the devil had tempted him by taking him to the top of a mountain and showing him all the kingdoms on earth. Such a feat is only possible if the Earth is flat. Want another example? OK, here is another. When he was asked when he would return to Earth after his death, he told his followers that he would appear in the sky such that everyone on Earth could see him. Again, this is only possible if the Earth is falt. I know, I know, television, right? Well seeing that we live in a world where only 1/3 of the population has electricity, Jesus is not going to be seen all over the world at any time in the near or distant future.
The Mormons don't think he is God, right? And you are a Mormon, Jason? Well, even if he came from an extraterrestrial location before, one would think he would know something about the shape of the Earth.

You know, an article I read once about this Moon Hoax stuff talked about how Bart was once working for a local tv station in Nashville when he found out that Neil Armstrong was in town and he (this was before the whole Hoax obcession of his) got all gung-ho about getting an interview.
Neil is a private guy and he instantly called the cops when he saw a tv reporter trespassing on his lawn.
Kaising (or however you spell his name) once admitted to a friend that his obcession stared when he felt a need to get back to the USA for Vietnam.
Could Sibrel have an axe to grind as well for getting arrested and loosing his job in Nashville?

With the photos from low lunar orbit shownig the landing sites, as well as the very well-done MythBuster's Episode, isn't it "Case Closed"?
