Incidentally, I see that Lunar Orbit has felt fit to introduce a new set of rules, and I reproduce part of them here....... [blah blah blah...] Much amused by the latest instalment in the Margo Martyr Saga. Gosh, Margs, you've really got 'em on the run. They're terrified of you. That can be the only reason that the subject of you getting banned keeps coming up. You're such a free thinker and original mind you're dangerous, dude!

I have been advocating your bannshment from this forum for weeks . Well thanks for that Bob, you're in the same box as Kiwi now. Bye! Unbelievable. Just put us all in the box, will you, for Christ's sake?

You're walking a fine line between being a troll or not. You're walking a fine line between being "rude" and "offensive". Ah, I think that Marg was hoping you were going to threaten to ban him, persecute him for his beliefs and all that.

Then I suggest you go back and read them and look for insults. I am sure you will find them. Look for insults?! Why on earth would I do that? If you're determined to be offended and look for something to be offended by, then you'll find it. it looks like we agree. Sort of.

Not that Margamatix needs me to point it out, but have YOU noticed the Pro-Apollo ppl's style against him here? Yes I have. Many here (more patient and knowledgable than I) take great trouble to give him thoughtful and informative answers to his slanderous mudslinging. I am very grateful that they do, for I have learned a great deal as a result. As might you, if you are interested.

I've noticed a change of tone in Margo's posts - he used to be ever-so-slightly earnest and at least pretended to be interested in the facts. Nowadays he is totally flippant and disrespectful. For example:
"(yeah, I know the story. It was the size of a suitcase, and then they pulled on a string and it all popped open etc etc.....)"
I prefer to believe it means that he now realises the stupidity of the HB claims and isnow having a bit of fun winding everybody up.
By the way, Margs, have you ever been to Nevada? Or have any idea what the Nevada desert looks like?

In case I missed something - what is the point of this thread? Some conspiratorial significance in the number 20? Or what?

Just had a look at Talksport's website. They appear to do a weekly programme on the "unexplained". The text on the site appears quite uncritical as to the credibility of the various psychics, ufologists and spoon benders they interview. Couldn't look at the discussion forum as it's on my employer's banned list. Quite what this has to do with sport eludes me. The station perhaps should more accurately be called 'TalkMainlySport'. The sports reporters are generally pretty good but there are lots of phone-ins, with the good and bad that entails. The other programmes tend to be obnoxious-host-led phone-ins with bottom-of-the-barrel guests. As you say, they are pretty uncritical of their credentials.

The news-reader bloke (who Collins chats to during the show- it's quite an informal station) seemed quite clued-up. He refused to go along with Collins's cheap, matey cynicism and demanded 'absolute proof' that the landings were faked. Good for him. Not everyone on commercial radio is a fool.

Talksport Radio (www.talksport.net) in the UK is about to have a discussion about the Moon landings with the 'foremost experts' to prove that man didnt go to the moon.
The host is Ian Collins, the worst sort of pub bore, tabloid hack who'll swallow anything if it livens up his show.
It's a phone-in but I'mnot very good at that sort of thing so I've 'emailed the show'.

Just out of interest, why is Margamatix banned? Well, I can guess, but what was the final incident? (Apart from you NASA conspirators' fanatical desire to suppress the voice of Reason, that is.)

Well, in that case, why was I invited to contribute to another thread?
Well, that is interesting. I must confess that it is kind of fun when HBs like yourself are baited, fun to marvel at the flights of fancy and outrageous disregard of sense and logic displayed. All very entertaining.
But more seriously, as Jay and the others have explained many times, it is important to counter the HBs, in order to expose their ludicrousness to any lurkers observing.
I am mainly a lurker myself, but sometimes I can't resist.

He's a troll, pretty clearly, Errrr, this thread was started by someone else and aimed at me? ? How can that make me a troll? Hmm. Once again, logic passes you by. You base your question on the false premise that only the starter of this thread can be described as a troll. You have exhibited troll-like behaviour in numerous threads and indeed have started numerous threads with crass, troll-like enquiries. Even on this thread you have ignored all the information given to you elsewhere and repeated your notion of 'it' being hot on the moon. If this is not troll behaviour then it is, at best, idiotic.

We know you're only one guy, and presumably have other things to do then continuously monitor and answer posts from a dozen or so other people. Suggestion: pick just one of your technical claims - such as that there is no plausible way to cool a space suit on the Moon - and defend it. That should be manageable in terms of time, no? OK. On the moon, it is either very hot or very cold (the astronauts seem to be confused about which it is) Assuming it is very hot, then the backpacks would have been unable to reject that amount of heat for that duration of time. Whatever coolant they used, it would have been overwhelmed by the ambient temperature. That's why air-conditioning units are the size they are, in order to perform such a small reduction in temperature. Let me put it another way...... Design a PLSS for a goldfish which is to be immersed in a gallon of boiling water for three hours. The maximum mass of the PLSS is to be no more than 25% of the mass of the goldfish. Well, I take it back. He did reply. Not with anything sensible though.
