How hard can it be to stick to one subject?
Very, if you can easily be shown to be utterly wrong but your belief system requires that you never ever allow anyone to see you concede that.
Although this is not my board, I'd say conspiracy theorists can post on as many topics as they like, but at least close out one rather than skip on to another. If david/rocky wants to post about multiple topics I can't see a problem with that. The problem is when he goes quiet after he is thoroughly debunked on one or two, then pops up with another argument without returning to the original or ever acknowledging the outcome of the first.

It's not starting multiple topics that bother me, although I agree that fewer is better because it's easier for them to focus their attention. What I really hate is when someone starts a thread about September 11th (for example) in the Apollo hoax theory section. Why David thinks those two topics are in any way comparable is beyond me.

Ummm...let me guess...they were BOTH done in a studio? ;D ;D ;D

The fact that he is being banned for "taking threads off-topic" will completely fly over his head. Mine too, "Thread Drift" is normally considered to be a completely normal part of Internet Debate.

How can you call it "drift" when it so unerringly heads back towards a particular location?
A thread would "drift" if it started out talking about thermal control methods on the LM and graduated through discussion of Skylab's problems to a side discussion about the control systems of the unmanned Soyuz re-supply rockets.
If, instead, that same thread were to experience a post repeating once again the unsupported assertion that WTC-7 was brought down by controlled demolitions, most people would call that a "hijack."

Ah, I was wondering when Spongebob (aka. Margamatix) would pop up to criticize me for banning David/Rocky. I was beginning to think you took my suggestion to start your own forum. It's not just "thread drift". I don't mind if a topic moves from discussing moon rocks to the Apollo CM heat shield, they're at least related in a small way. What David wanted to do is discuss the September 11th terrorist attacks in Apollo threads as if they were somehow related. They are totally unrelated topics and each one has it's own place in the forum, they do not belong together.

Uh-oh! I see a "Terms of Service" link on the registration page! It looks to me like there are <gasp!> rules on that forum. How dare they put restrictions on what I can say or do!

Spongebob and Cameron have been banned (they're the same person). This forum has a rule against sock-puppetry (creating multiple user accounts) and the reason for this rule is because having multiple identities is deceptive. I let him get away with it despite the fact that he had already gotten himself banned as Margamatix.

Spasmo has been permanently banned for rude behaviour. I will not tolerate people coming here simply to attack other members of this forum.

Heavenlybody has been banned permanently for rude behaviour, trolling, and for ignoring warnings from me.

Would it be wrong to start a betting pool on how long it takes for the next sockpuppet to show up now HB has been kicked?

With all of the inactive accounts that already exist, I wouldn't be at all surprised if she was already here. But I guess betting on how long it will be before she posts again is not a bad idea.
