From total411.info regarding the specter of disease:
"THE BOTTOM LINE IS DISEASE!" So screamed CNN reporter Jeff Koinange Friday night on CNN. Koinange has been foremost among the screaming heads on television warning about the coming disease that is sure to sweep New Orleans. But all cablenews networks keep repeating the code words to lay the gorund for widespread disease -- "toxic soup."
But while Koinange bleats, cooler heads have snuck on to Fox News Channel, perhaps not so tightly controlled by Army intelligence as the more sophisticated propaganda to be found on CNN. For instance, Dr. Michael Baden appeared on Geraldo Rivera's Saturday night hour to explain that you will get more exposure to active bacteria by changing a baby's diaper than you will walking through the New Orleans floodwaters. Baden pointed out that as long as you don't drink the water you should be fine, and the idea that people on dry land with access to clean water should be forcibly evacuated is ridiculous. And earlier that night on Fox, former Public Health Director for New Orleans, Brobson Lutz explained that the idea mosquitos would spread diseases from corpses to the living, has long since been proven to be nonsense.
Those who perceive geopolitical fighting between London and Paris in New Orleans would recognize Koinange's pedigree to be that of an agent for MI6. Born in Kenya under the British Crown, Koinange was in charge of all news from Africa for the Biritsh wire service Reuters. Koinange had a similar job for CNN before he was flown to New Orleans to loudly proclaim how it reminds of him the third world. And to inculcate the television audience about the coming plague.
Meanwhile, upriver in Baton Rouge is Louisiana State University with an active biolab, a world leader in West Nile virus research. LSU was to be the home of Stephen Hatfill, until it was exposed Hatfill was a prime "person of interest" in the 2001 anthrax attacks. Hatfill was an expert in bioweapons at the U.S. Army's Fort Dietrick, who had spent a lot of time in African countries of the British Commonwealth, followed where he went by strange plagues of new origin.
(LSU is now headed by Bohemian Grover Sean O'Keefe, former head of NASA.)
The current governor of Louisiana, Kathleen Blanco, is of French Cajun blood. She narrowly defeated the Republican candidate, now-Congressman Bobby Jindal. Jindal was born of Indian (British Commonwealth) parents and was a Rhodes Scholar, a known breeding ground for British intelligence agents. He went on to major positions in the La. health department and Baby Bush's Health & Human Services. His most sickening public moment was when he organized the "inked finger" salute to Fuhrer Bush at the State of Union Address wherein Bush attempted to justify the UK-US' dishonest and illegal war on Iraq.
Louisiana may have averted a planned bioattack just this weekend. Yesterday it was announced that the US Air Force would begin spraying New Orleans for mosquitos today, Sunday. But today FEMA announced, broadcast on CNN, that spraying would commence Monday under the auspices of the Air National Guard -- which is controlled by Baton Rouge rather than Washington.
While it is probably important to spray for mosquitos given the likelihood swarms seeded with lab-created diseases may be released, it is also important the state of Louisiana have control and check everything cannister that is sprayed to make sure they do not contain exotic military bioweapons. Forces on the ground loyal to the state and the elite of New Orleans (National Guard, Blackwater mercenaries, state police) must also be on alert for bioterrorists.
The Battle of New Orleans continues tonight as Bush embeds himself on a Navy Carrier docked on the Mississipi.

Nevermind.

Dead Hoosiers you are a walking, talking stereotype of an irrational conspiracy theorist.
You trust implicitly every web site that agrees with your world view, no questions asked, no investigation necessary, yet completely ignore every single piece of contrary evidence. In addition, you seem to feel that all the experts on this forum, in fact most of the experts on Earth are complete idiots and totally brainwashed, yet you somehow have discovered the 'truth'.
Good luck with that by the way.
Is there a college course in this stuff that you all go to? Do you have a script?

The PCTs seem to be in fine form, though few pay attention to their ranting.
One interesting thing is how often, when there is a disaster, for the ultimate casualty count or final damage or hazard amount to be initially overstated. In the WTC terrorist attacks, there were initial estimates of, what, 30,000 deaths, whereas the actual number was about a tenth of that. While the mayor of NO and others were guessing around 10,000 deaths, I figured about 2500, and the actual number among the three states worst hit will probably be more like 1,000. Even the Chernobyl accident's final death toll is much less than initially predicted, and much of the land around it could be reinhabited.
That's not a careful study or anything; just my impression. A counterexample would be the Indonesian tsunami, where the death toll seemed higher than what I remember the initial estimates to be.
And, of course, in NO, a number of the rescue personnel have been getting weird skin rashes from exposure to the nasty stuff in the floodwaters. I also know at least a couple of the search dogs have died. To say you'll be "fine" as long as you don't drink the water is rather oversimplifying things; it's nasty stuff, though certainly not generally lethal. But PCTs never let rational assessment of things get in their way.

OK lets look at this.
Koinange has been foremost among the screaming heads on television warning about the coming disease that is sure to sweep New Orleans.
[Captain Renault] I'm shocked, shocked to find that the media are accused of sensationalizing a story[/Captain Renault]
Dr. Michael Baden appeared on Geraldo Rivera's Saturday night hour to explain that you will get more exposure to active bacteria by changing a baby's diaper than you will walking through the New Orleans floodwaters. Baden pointed out that as long as you don't drink the water you should be fine…
More is a relative thing. One can die just the same by taking enough drugs to make a lethal dose or any amount more than that. I don’t know about you, but I wash my hands after changing diapers.
Besides drinking you can get infections though an open cut, or get a transfer from hands to mouths when they can’t properly wash, or get it in their mouths from removing a wet shirt over the face, or be elderly with a compromised immune system, or…
Whether or not a widespread medical problem erupts, no one should deny that this is potentially a dangerous situation. Politicians tend take an aggressive stance toward the worse case scenario. No big surprise here. Pols are not run out of office for being overly cautious in emergencies. Bush is being heavily criticized for not taking the situation seriously enough.
Those who perceive geopolitical fighting between London and Paris in New Orleans
Koinange's pedigree to be that of an agent for MI6. Born in Kenya under the British Crown
The current governor of Louisiana, Kathleen Blanco, is of French Cajun blood.
If true this is a guilt by association assertion. Not any kind of fact of international involvement. What about African involvement because the mayor of NO is a descendent of slaves? Oh yes, I forgot the whole thing is racially motivated by the white powers, silly me.
Begs the question that there was a “bioattack” planed, or that the Feds are even capable of it. Show me that first.
The conspiracy required behind this “theory” is impractically immense. the authors of this article are plainly ignorant and following their own agenda without regard to reason.

James Truth (some of you know him as TotalInformation) is being interviewed about Katrina on the Jack Blood program as we speak. www.total411.infoAh to be back. Dead Hoosiers, as usual, you are FOS. We have battled over PID, but this is personal. Guess where I live(d) - New Orleans, LA about a mile from the levee breech of the 17th street canal. We had 10 feet of water in our house. I have lost everything. I have family who are cops there. I have other family members who are in the guard there. My wife's cousin and her husband were in the Superdome and bussed to the Astrodome. Sorry, the levees were not blown. They broke because the storm came in from the southeast and pushed gulf water into Lake Pontchartrain, then the eye passed east of the city, thus pushing all of that water into the canals. The levees, though beefed up within the last ten years, were not designed to hold that amount of water so they busted. The New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board wanted to put a pumping station at the head of the 17th street canal. The problem is that Jefferson Parish owns the canal bottom and the city had to get permission to build it. Jefferson Parish refused to let them build it in order to protect the historic beauty of bucktown which is on the western part of that canal. Some of the greatest seafood restaurants are there. Environmentalists also had a part in the decision to refuse the building of the pumping station. That likely would have saved us. FEMA works through other agencies like the Red Cross and The Salvation Army, but they have no control over them. They also do not control the National Guard. The Governor does. The Guard and the Red Cross were ready to go to the Superdome and the Convention Center. The State of Louisiana refused because they did not want them to draw more people to those locations. They wanted the people out. Also, while the governor deployed Guard for other purposes, she did not deploy them for security and supply delivery. The City also played its part. RTA busses were supposed to be used to get people out of the city. That was not done. At the last moment, people were told to WALK to the Superdome and Convention Center and to bring their own food and water with them. The city put them there, but provided no help or supplies for them. Meanwhile, my wife's cousin was deposited there after being rescued by a helicopter. The feds had those helicopters flying soon after the levees broke. They were there and ready. They saved my in-laws lives. In the Superdome, however, she got to live and walk in sh*t, literally, see one of the military people killed and a little girl raped - all while the governor tried to decide whether to get the feds to help. Some have said the levees were blown to flood the poor areas to save the affluent areas. BS. The area flooded by the breech in the 17th street canal was one of the, if not the richest and whitest areas in the city. That's the way it was. No spin. No filtering through news services. This is from people who were there. Directly involved. I know the area and the politicians involved. No conspiracy people. Just a big a$$ storm that was too much for the protection to handle. Again, I have lost everything. We just had new carpeting put down, two bedrooms redone and a bathroom totally redone. It was finished the day before we evacuated. This is very personal to me and it really ticks me off when people of limited intelligence and full of hate try to play political and conspiracy games with it. Back off.

Please explain why it took the levees 21 hours to break after the storm surge.
FEMA works through other agencies like the Red Cross and The Salvation Army, but they have no control over them. They also do not control the National Guard. The Governor does.
Don't you mean that FEMA commands the Salvation Army and the Red Cross in an emergency? It has been well documented that these relief agencies as well as firefighters and regular citizens were refused admittance to the city.
Meanwhile, my wife's cousin was deposited there after being rescued by a helicopter. The feds had those helicopters flying soon after the levees broke. They were there and ready. FEMA was already there sitting on its hands while these things occurred. In fact, that's WHY those atrocities occurred. It had nothing to do with the governor refusing to relinquish control of the National Guard to the feds, if that's what you're saying. (But I'm glad your in-laws were rescued in time.)
That's the way it was. No spin. No filtering through news services. This is from people who were there. Directly involved. I know the area and the politicians involved.
You were in Jackson, MS, weren't you? So you're getting your information second-hand just like me. The politicians involved were screaming for Brown's blood. Why do you think he was forced to resign as head of FEMA? Because he did such a great job?
it really ticks me off when people of limited intelligence and full of hate try to play political and conspiracy games with it. Back off.
Since you're back online you can catch up on the news as to what all happened in NO while you were away. Then you can apologize.
