A troll showed up at the FETZERclaimsDEBUNK Yahoo group claiming to be a volunteer EMT who got to the scene of the Sen. Wellstone crash before anybody even knew it crashed. He is making up all sorts of nonsense that doesn't even jibe with the CT versions of what happened. This guy might even really be an EMT but probably isn't and making a fool of him isn't very challenging.but I'd like to "blow his cover" if he isn't an EMT. My question (for STS60) is, are there any questions I can ask him to flush him out if he isn't an EMT i.e. question any EMT should be able to an answer but the general populace not? Hopefully questions that can't easily be answered by googling. The stream of BS begins here: groups.yahoo.com/group/FETZERclaimsDEBUNK/message/2366Len

Well, you could ask him what company he's with. That would mean in his case "what volunteer department", not "what employer". Or you could ask him if he's fire-based (as opposed to hospital-based or all EMS). Does he respond from home? Those aren't sure-fire revealers, but it would be interesting to hear his answers.
I'd have to see what he wrote to venture an opinion, but I couldn't pull up the forum (it griped about cookies, even though I had cookies allowed). Maybe a "fair-use" excerpt or two here would be OK, including some descriptions of what actions he took.

How familiar are you with the case?
He wrote,
Problem is that this does correlate with any other accounts of when the crash discovered etc. Other problem is if they got there when he says they did the would have been 3 or 4 people sit alive. I can't believe any EMT's would leave live plane crash victims to die just because some one from the FBI call them on their cell phones and told them to leave.
In another post he said he was based out of Midway MN. I'll check to find out if St. Louis county has a volunteer EMT squad based in that town.

There is a volunteer rescue unit (http://www.slcrescue.org/) apparently attached to the Sheriff's office in St. Louis county. But he could have searched that up just as quickly as I did, so that means nothing. Their "contacts" page lists Cook and Duluth, but those are just mailing addresses, so that means nothing either.
Anyway, it smells like utter BS. No rescuer is leaving viable patients because someone calls them on their cell phone. That's idiotic.
Such a story would have spread through the fire/rescue/EMS community anyway, and I've never heard a hint of it. I don't believe it at all.
