Okay, lets get the thermite thread back under control, and discuss all Osama related stuff here.
Not that I think the thermite thread has anywhere else to go.

The first thing I would like to discuss is what he was doing around his thirtieth birthday, following my stream of thought from the FUD thread, and ask what happened during his period of "saturn's return." He was born in 1957. Somewhere between 1986 and 1988 he broke away from the organization known as MAK en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maktab_al-Khadamat and formed al-Qaeda. His personal money and connections were already being used to give support to the mujahideen en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mujahideenin Afghanistan, fighting the Soviets. He chose to break away from this CIA-sponsored organization and form his own. This has nothing to do with astrology, and everything to do with psychology.

I've always thought that the claims of fake video's and Osama doubles is simply a tactic to try to discredit compelling evidence that the attacks weren't an inside job. As far as the videos go, IMO this is the article that makes the most sense to me: www.911myths.com/html/fake_video.htmlOne would think that if indeed Al Queda wasn't involved, that somebody would have spoken up by now and said "hey. We didn't do this". Of course, OBL at first did deny it, but I suspect the imminent invasion of his base of operations had something to do with that.

Don't they understand we have conspiracy theories to debunk. I can understand them getting upset if we were spreading conspiracy thoeries, but we're debunking here! Debunking!

You know, it's a real pity that NASA or the CIA won't pay us to do this, getting paid to read bulliten boards all day would be a neat job.

Hey 911:Inside Job, a little question for you.
Can you believe it's possible for someone to hate the USA so much that they would preach jihad against it?
If so, is it at least conceivable to you that Osama bin Laden is such a person?

Okay, so these are the questions about Osama bin Laden, as I understand it:
A) Is he the mastermind of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks? B) Is he the man in the Jalalabad video? C) Is he still a tool of the CIA? D) Is he still alive?
Anything I'm missing?

(c) seems to admit that he might have been a CIA-type but is no longer. Does anyone claim this?

Thanks for pointing this out, sts60. The conspiracy theories give maximum connection between minimum pieces of information. I'm giving the theory that he WAS involved with CIA maximum benefit of doubt for purposes of arguement.
Per my reference (1), wikipedia:
This is in keeping with the modus operandi of the CIA - funding through third parties, keeping behind the curtain, having uncertain connections with subjects of interest. Obviously, this does not mean that he was an operative, in the nature of notables like Noriega.
I would also like to ask if anyone has specific objections to the wikipedia article on OBL? Does everyone agree to use this as our starting dossier? Can we agree that the pictures in the article represent Osama bin Laden?
Just so everyone knows where I'm coming from, I found the images from the Jalalabad tape disturbing, and I dislike uncertainy. But I also dislike "premature certainty."

The problem here is that for the CT there is no way to know the truth. If the CIA say that didn't fund them then they are lying to hide it. If OBL and crew say they weren't funded, they are lying because they are CIA and are hiding it. So even if what they say is true, the CT's simply will cliam it's a lie. Then they get a quote from Cook, who would really know what the CIA was up too in in Afghanistan, and they'll cling to it like a drowning man. A good book on what the CIA did and didn't do is Ghost Warriors it's written by a guy that should know since he was there as a reporter at the time.
