I think the first picture of Madison has been altered.
To me, he looks like he's been pasted into the snowscape. His back lacks fine hairs and appears unnaturally "snipped" along the edge. It also looks like there is unnatural blurring along the outside edges of Madison in some places, like at the right side edge of his neck.
It's just my first guess after looking at the pics for about 5 minutes, so I'm probably off the mark!

Minneapolis/St. Paul = Twin Cities. I live up here for college, but I am a Texan, born and raised.

I am a senior at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and my major is Comic Art. Yes, I am studying to draw comics for a living.

Must be a Siamese cat. They look nice, but don't do much... My parent's cat is the same, at only part Siamese. She's also fixed, and so is a bit on the large side, but not excessively so.

Reynoldbot, if you have cable, I'm directing a show that will be on Metro Channel 6 in the Twin Cities next Thursday (the 25th) at 7:00pm. It is a call-in show, with veterinarians and animal training experts on hand to answer just about any type of pet-related question. We've been doing the show for about 6 months, now. That's a pretty long shot, I'm sure - but I thought I'd let you know so we could possibly increase our audience by one.

Sorry, but as an art student, I live on the cheap, and don't have cable. Lucky for me, my apartment can't allow pets, so I won't be missing great advice that I could actually use.
My turn: My school has an annual mini-comic convention, and I believe this year we are opening it up to the public to come and enjoy the mini books. It should be some saturday in November, I can post the date when I hear it if you are interested. Also, in December we have the MCAD art sale, which is extremely popular and is a great way to buy art on the cheap.

Is there a web site where the art can be viewed? Or art from previous MCAD art sales?
buy art on the cheap.
Everybody wants a deal on art. I've barely covered my expenses since I started painting four years ago. The most I've ever made is $200 on one painting. I don't know if that means I'm not very good at it or if prices are determined by reputation or else people in my city are cheap. Maybe a combination of all three...

Don't know why I didn't connect this before - but my boss is actually taking classes at MCAD. He's a filmmaker, so I don't know if you would have come into contact with him, reynoldbot.

Or art from previous MCAD art sales? Not for the art sale, no, but the MCAD website has an online gallery which is a pretty good guage of what kind of work you will probably see. The Art Sale is huge, there are literally thousands of pieces being sold, and MCAD is one of the top design schools in the country, so there's a good chance you will find something you like. Also, one of my comic pages is represented on the comic art section. I don't know why they chose that page, it wasn't a particularly good one from that comic. www.mcad.edu/showPage.php?pageID=1036Yeah pricing is a weird issue and hard to determine. Lucky for me being a design oriented artist, there's a handy book that tells me how much to sell my services for.
