Has anyone seen this movie - ZEITGEIST. I have only seen a little bit of it. It presents alot of material including the 9/11 crashes being a set up. It is very well done on the surface and is very compelling. I have had a HUGE argument with my brother over it - he asked me if I'd seen it, which I hadn't, then went on to blah, blah, blah, about kerosene not burning hot enough to melt steel, flight paths of aircraft etc to which I just rolled my eyes. It is here zeitgeistmovie.com/. Check it out and tell me what you think. Trev.

Hmmm. Had a look at the transcript to the first part of the movie. A few statements there which are unremarkable but probably little known, a few other statements there which are wrong - for example, the Christian fish symbol is simply a result of a mnemonic about Jesus created by early Christians which spelt out the Greek word for fish; it's not directly related to Pisces of astrological fame, AFAIK. As for your brother, point him at www.911myths.com and tell him to go for his life.

You're right Peter. The word in question is "ICQUS," the ancient Greek word for fish. The anagram is the Greek for "Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior" or "IhsouV CristoV, Qeou UioV, Swtir".
And let me echo your sentiments on getting Trevor's brother to knock some sense into his head.
P.S. If someone can remind me of how to get Greek letters to post I'll fix admittedly poor transliteration.
ETA: Thanks Tanalia and Ginnie. I still need to check the Greek spelling, but I think I've got it.

Thanks etac. I could remember a couple of the words, but not the whole lot.

Plus many of the apostles, including Peter, were fishermen, and Jesus said "follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." That makes a fish an appropriate symbol of Christianity, and is the reason the Pope wears the "Ring of the Fisherman".

The acronym story is true, as evidenced in many ancient inscriptions and writings. The significance of fish and fishing per se in Christianity is also well attested.
Much less well documented is the derivation and use of the superimposed-arc symbol. It has long been suggested that its relative graphic simplicity made it suitable for clandestine communication among Christians during times of persecution, to mark meeting places or as a challenge-response authentication scheme. The symbol is simple and abstract enough not to convey much inherent meaning, but to the initiated it was a clear message. But the facts seem to indicate that it is a modern invention, that it was never an ancient symbol either Christian or pagan.

I watched all of Part 2 'All The Worlds a Stage' last night, which is the part about the 911 conspiracy,I didn't bother with part 1 or 3. There are alot of snippets of information and quotes played very quickly, so I found that I didn't have time to focus on anything for very long, the basic stuff like molten steel and WTC 7 etc are pretty easy to debunk. There are a few parts which I would not have had arguments for if I had to discuss it.
1. Did President Bush refuse to speak at the comission without Dick Cheney, under oath and did he not want it transcripted? and if so why? 2. Was NORAD really playing terrorist war games on that day? 3. Did the FBI really confiscate all the footage around the pentagon crash? 4. Did President Bush really have a meeting with OBL's brother that morning? 5. Where on earth did that passport come from?
This is the more 'boring' stuff but does anyone know off the top of their head.

Did President Bush refuse to speak at the comission without Dick Cheney, under oath and did he not want it transcripted? and if so why? I believe it's true. I don't know why. In my uncharitable moments it makes me suspect Cheney was needed to coach/remind Bush. I believe so. But what of it? I'd expect my military to spend a lot of their time engaging in exercises to keep their skills up. Yes. It was evidence of the commission of a crime. The importance of that evidence is fairly low, because, to my knowledge, none of it shows anything conclusive. I don't know. But again, what of it? There's no evidence the brother was aware of or condoned OBL's actions. The passport was blown out by the shockwave which preceded the fireball generated by the plane impact. Watch some of that old footage from the Vietnam War of the shockwaves produced by aircraft bombs - the shockwave clearly precedes the fireball.

Ok had a really good look at the 911myths website and it has got many of the answers I needed. One or two are still left unanswered but I think I got enough to go on.
I can foresee the response to the passport though. "oh yeah out of all those people on the plane they just happened to find one belonging to a terrorist!"
My brother and his inlaw family are soo into conspiracies that I don't think I'm going to have much luck with them. His father in-law is an engineer and if he can't see this rubbish for what it is I don't know what hope I have of convincing the others.
My favourite answer though is if they (the evil US) were going to use these acts as an excuse to go into Afganistan and Iraq, why make the terrorists Saudi? Don't they think of these things?
Obviously not.

They found lots of other stuff belonging to passengers but how newsworthy is it to say you found Joe Nobody's credit card? Plus, the passport wasn't used to establish the identity of the hijackers. That was already known from other sources.

Exactly and Americans normally don't bring their passports on domestic flights.
