People are not required to give personal information about themselves in public internet forums just to satisfy your curiousity, Altair4. There are enough creeps in this world that I highly recommend that people keep their private information private.

As someone in Wellington New Zealand I'm very glad he gave his name.
(For avoidance reasons.)

Actually, UPC codes are always 6 or 12 digits long. EAN-13 barcodes are 13 digits long, but that is because all EAN-13 codes starting with a zero are read as 12 digit UPC codes. Presumably the EAN standard was implemented to increase the number of possible codes (admittedly, that last is an assumption on my part, but I think it makes sense). So, nothing sinister there. UPC 12 digits EAN (European Article Number) 13 digits (most start with 9 - that could be a country digit) ISBN 13+5 (vendor code) ISSN 13+2 Periodical Code 14 digits GTIN 14 digits UPN 12 digits

Of course many of them are Mormons, though - for some people that's worse. Prejudices die hard, don't they? There's a persistent myth that all the major Las Vegas bankers are Mormons because they're the only ones who can be trusted by the various organized-crime factions (who allegedly operate the casinos) not to favor one crime family over the other, and to be largely "untouchable." So take that for what it's worth.

Well there are a lot of Mormons in the Vegas area, but they aren't necessarily the major investment bankers.

My friends wife is a Mormon, she is from Utah but lives in the UK. They met in Vegas. She used to be a Deputy Sherrif in some county department (can't rememebr which one)

they are odd numbers...Approximately half of all integers are odd. JayUtah, I've got to take issue with this kind of measurement of the size of countably infinite sets. It is true, for every odd integer n, there are two integers, n and n+1. Does that mean that half of all integers are odd? It is also true that for every odd integer n, there are three integers - (3n+1)/2, (3n+3)/2, and (3n+5)/2. So maybe one third of all integers are odd. It is also true that for every integer n, there is an odd integer, 2n+1. So maybe the there are just as many odd integers as there are integers. Got to be careful assigning measure to infinite sets... In any event, there is someone who just got banned at BAUT, who has the same name as altair4 (Paul Leeks). There is a message saying he is banned for being a sock, along with Schutzstaffeln-SS. I think the message means they are socks of each other, but it is slightly ambiguous.

Well, I was aiming at a facetious, veiled reference to the non-debate over the evenness of zero. But you're right: the cardinality of a countably infinite set doesn't lend itself to arithmetic of halving.
