A friend gave me some wav files of recordings made at some of the Sea Org meetings. Once you get to a certain level in Scientology it seems you were obligated to attend or buy audio tapes of L. Ron Hubbard. I found these recordings to be interesting. I hope you do too. I posted them on my website: gelsana.com/Ron/

I get the impression the Hubbard was simply a science fiction writer who got a little too carried away.

He also carried away Jack Parsons' girlfriend and 20 grand in cash.
Heinlien introduced them through the Los Angeles science fiction community.
Weird world.

Check this out. www.factnet.org/discus/messages/6/1192.html?1102573069 "There is a cult in Northern California called Hrafnar hrafnar.org/ which is run by a science fiction author named Diana Paxson.
... My daughter has been brainwashed by this cult. She has not spoken to me in months, and when she did I felt that she was lying - she always asked for money and became livid when I asked her about the cult. This group has a huge presence on the internet and the priestesses pass down their orders by channelling various entities and posting the results online to the members who are spread all over the United States. scientology is one of the more frightening cults around. They act mroe like mobsters than anything else. They have been known to treat dissent as an act of high treason. A journalist who wrote an article critical of scientology for TIME magazine was harassed by lawyers associated with the church. They interrogated his family and friends and members of his neighborhood in an attempt to find dirt they could use to publicly slander him, and of course they sued for defamation. They usually reserve physical threats for ex-scientologists attempting to speak out against the church, in a process they call "fair-play." Fair play is a written philosophy of the church which states that they reserve the right to threaten, harass, sue, harm and possibly kill dissenters without interference from the law. They are at least indirectly responsible for the death of one woman, who attempted to withdraw from the church and was locked into a room by people from the church until she died.
Of all the kooky cults going around, scientology is the only one I am truly frightened and disgusted by.

If you take their stance against meds into consideration, they're responsible for more than just the one death.
