But of course I wouldn't be me if I didn't question the data a little. Putting the two together like you did implies that "harassment" has caused the decrline in the number of abortion clinics. Do we know that less clinics are the result of "harassment", or could other factors have been at play? Also, the first site shows that 51% of the women in Utah live in a county without access to an abortion provider. The problem with this figure is that more than 51% of the population of Utah lives around the Salt Lake urban area - with easy access to the clinics here. While I have no doubt that someone living in Grand or Rich county might have problems finding an abortion clinic, that's because only a small fraction of the state's population lives in those counties. 51% is therefore a misleading figure, probably based more on geography than actual population distribution. It's too bad that harassment does occur at legal clinics, but I can't say I'm sad that there are less of them out there.
