Ok, some are saying there will be no 2008 elections, that something will happen that will allow Bush to declare martial law and suspend the elections. If this is true, it's possible that Bush will not be assassinated this year. However, the prediction of his assasination is WHILE HE IS STILL IN OFFICE. If he suspends the election, that may be indefinitely.

I think that if George Bush declared Martial law he would be declared incompetent and removed from office by Congress. But I don't know American laws very well.

That's probably the same people who said in 1999 that there would never be another Presidential election and that Bill Clinton would declare martial law.
I hereby predict that President Bush is not going to declare martial law and suspend the Presidential election this year. You can add that to my earlier predictions.

Jason, I got a feeling that you're going to be spot on once again with your predictions. How do you do it? It's almost...supernatural

It used to be called "common sense" but these days it's a power far beyond the reach of many people you meet on the internet.

I had nowhere to put this from an old post. This thread seemed to have more nonsense than any other so I'll put it here: From the 'Question of Credibility' thread apollohoax.proboards21.com/index.cgi?board=theories&action=display&thread=1115413692&page=10unknown: Be quiet, little man, you know almost nothing about forces that reign in the universe. JayUtah: Refute my argument mathematically. Then you can call me names. unknown: If you don't understand this simple thing, you are a big idiot... JayUtah: Make up your mind. I'm either a "little man" or a "big idiot". I can't be both. I just found that so funny.

I think that if George Bush declared Martial law he would be declared incompetent and removed from office by Congress. But I don't know American laws very well. As I understand it, the Congress can impeach him (as they did the last president) for "high crimes and misdemeanors," which are not defined in the constitution. Basically, if congress votes for any reason at all (simple majority) to impeach, and the senate votes to convict (2/3 majority), he stops being president. No judicial review, no appeal, no nothing. His popularity being just slightly on the low side these days, there was talk about congress removing him from office even if he did not declare martial law (charges to be something along the lines of deception related to the Iraq war), but the opposition party decided not to push for it. Perhaps they saw how well it went for the opposition party the last time it was tried... It used to be called "common sense" but these days it's a power far beyond the reach of many people you meet on the internet. I used to be a firm believer in democracy. Now, all I have to do is tell myself, democracy is a system that gives Turbonium or 911 Inside Job power over my life, and all of a sudden, it doesn't seem like such a great idea...

What the heck is going on? First Jason turns into a sightseer, then dwight defends Jarrah White, then I advocate crucifixion for child molesters and now you're questioning Democracy? Next thing you know Jay will start promoting David Icke... ;D

As I understand it, the Congress can impeach him (as they did the last president) for "high crimes and misdemeanors," which are not defined in the constitution. It's "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors." So there are a couple defined crimes there, and one undefined one. The House of Representatives must initiate an impeachment - the Senate can't do it. A majority must vote for impeachment. Once the majority vote has been taken then the President has been impeached (as happened to President Clinton) The Senate then tries the individual, with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presiding. A 2/3rds majority is required to convict. Without a 2/3rds majority the defendent is acquited. There is no appeal. Two presidents have been impeached by the House - Andrew Jackson and Bill Clinton - but neither was convicted and removed from office. Probably Democrats have not pushed for an impeachment of President Bush because they know there's no way they could get a 2/3rds majority in the Senate. In fact, it's questionable that they could get a simple majority in the House. Democracy is the worst form of government, except every other form.

The House of Representatives must initiate an impeachment - the Senate can't do it. In my post, "congress" should be interpreted in the narrow sense, that is, house of representatives, not both houses. Democracy is the worst form of government, except every other form. Some of the people out there (including some here) have me wondering about the last part...

I've got my first hit. Heath Ledger died today. As you all know, I predicted in my 2007 thread that "In 2007 a famous figure, who touched the lives of millions, will die. The world will mourn for a few days, then move on," and renewed that prediction for 2008.
Bingo!
EDIT: Corrected the spelling. Obviously I must not have been much of a fan, though I am looking forward to watching him as the Joker this summer.

If the world is still mourning a week from tomorrow, I'm going to have to say your prediction was wrong.
