I forgot about putting "The Right Stuff" on my list. I was at the grocery store last night and picked it up for 4.99.
My son wanted to watch a DVD together late last night. Usually we get a horror movie (stuff that my wife and daughter have no interest in), but I tried to get him to watch the Right Stuff with me. He was not interested in the least and I had to watch it by myself with the headphones on. I had forgotten a lot of the scenes, and it was great to see it over again. This time it was better though, because since the last time I'd seen it I've become a lot more familiar with the astronauts real life personalities. I found myself comparing their screen characters to their real selves, and that was interesting. Was John Glenn really that squeeky clean like in the movie? And in the movie, most of the original seven astronauts had contact with women who were not their wives. I don't recall reading about this anywhere.

We've recorded the HBO miniseries John Adams and, while I can't vouch for its historical accuracy, the parts we've watched so far are excellent. OT, but prompted by a visit to Gettysburg earlier this year, I am finally reading The Killer Angels. It's very, very good.
