It's not the same story. Obama did travel to Kenya before he was elected and did campaign with Odinga. There was lots of news on it which I would post, but my computer is shutting down every 5 minutes! When I get it fixed I'll post some of it or IM you with the links. The article I posted wasn't to show that Obama is a Kenyan citizen or to establish who his Kenyan relatives are. It's stating that Obama secretly gave our tax dollars to support abortion and sharia law in Kenya.

Oh no, I was agreeing with you because it's clear that killing 1,500 people (about 50% the population) is by far worse than killing 15 million people. (94% of the population) Remembering, of course, that about 90% of the population of the entirety of North and South America is believed to have been killed by disease, often before they encountered a single European at all. And those who gave blankets from a smallpox hospital knowing it would give the recipients smallpox (which did happen once or twice, though not hugely often) were Protestant. The reason Squanto, famous to Americans, was hanging around when Plymouth became a colony was that he'd been captured into slavery from a village in the area and, when he got home, found that everyone he'd known was dead. I want evidence, too, for any claim that the Spanish killed 94% of any population directly, through any method other than disease. It is true that smallpox is believed to have come to the Americas through a sailor on one of Columbus's voyages, but I really don't think that counts as having spread it on purpose. He just happened to have a minor case. The people who came to the Americas who happened to be carrying measles weren't doing it on purpose, either. Shoot, it's almost (see above, with those blankets!) never the case that anyone intends to spread disease, and that's how most of the American peoples were killed, disease. It's not the same story. Obama did travel to Kenya before he was elected and did campaign with Odinga. There was lots of news on it which I would post, but my computer is shutting down every 5 minutes! When I get it fixed I'll post some of it or IM you with the links. You didn't read the article, did you? No, he didn't. It's a lie spread by people looking for a way to slam Obama in a way which lets gullible people with a bone to pick believe they have a legitimate way to do it, and you fell for it. How? How do you hide that in the budget? And "support abortion" often means "gave money to family planning organizations which might possibly mention the word abortion" to people who are looking for a way to slam Obama in a way which lets gullible people with a bone to pick believe that they have a legitimate way to do it, and you fell for it.

How? How do you hide that in the budget? I am somewhat reluctant to post this, for fear my words may be used to support the allegations being made, but hiding small amounts of money (and "small" by government standards can be quite a lot by other standards) in the US federal budget would not be difficult. Keeping all the potential whistle-blowers quiet would be a lot tougher.

I am not an American, so I have no say in this, but I never liked the rule that meant an American president had to be a born in America. Sure that opens up the floodgates to the idea of Arnold Schwarzenegger theoretically becoming president, but America already has had an actor/president (Ronald Reagan) and it survived just fine. America was born of immigrants, it's greatest strength is its diversity. Of course,I would want an American president to be an American CITIZEN, but born elsewhere? Why should that matter? It's in the Constitution because the Founding Fathers wanted Presidents who could be reasonably assured to be loyal to their country because they were born and raised there. Because it's in the Constitution it will take a constitutional ammendment to change it. It's not just a "rule", it's constitutional law.

my computer is shutting down every 5 minutes! Sounds like you have a virus. Maybe some of those websites you visit are giving you more than just bad information.

I don't trust any publication that has "New World Order" on its front page...

You might have a bad fan. I thought the same thing - could be the video card fan, the fan on the CPU, or the power supply fan. Or could be accumulation of dust in and around the fans and vents. Lots of dust can get trapped in the CPU heatsink. My computer was noisy as heck. After I cleaned all the dust out around the fans and vents, you couldn't even hear that it was on!

Years ago I had a CPU fan die and didn't know until the computer started crashing (K6-2 processor) because I still had fan noise from the power supply. Of course I still used that processor for another 2 years, I just had to underclock it. You can't do that with a processor today. Once it is cooked it is done for. If you do find out it is heat then you should consider installing a program like speedfan that will automatically monitor all your temperatures.

How much does it cost to establish sharia law somewhere, do you think?

Think Iran-Contra, I guess. Though that money did come from somewhere. That's just the thing - the Iran Contra arrangement was not discovered because someone said, hey, these budget numbers don't add up, it was discovered through informants, and because an airplane containing weapons was shot down in Nicaragua. How much does it cost to establish sharia law somewhere, do you think? The exact word used (not by me) was "support", not "establish", without indicating the level of the support. Saving the rain forest may cost a lot, but I can support that effort by writing a $10 check to a charity. So I would have to defer to the person making the allegation to indicate what level of support s/he thinks is taking place. Again, I am by no means supporting the allegations being made. I just think that, if this sort of thing were going on, the budget is not the way it would likely be discovered. Edit - missing "not" in the last paragraph inserted.

Been looking up the author. Can hardly accuse him of bias or controversy.
