Does anyone know of a good Apollo CM main panel diagramme, apart from this one: history.nasa.gov/ap15fj/pics/ad019.gifI want to use one to print onto transfer paper, to replace the one found in the Revell 1:32 CSM kit. The one above cuts off the left hand side a little.

The Apollo 11 Owners' Workshop Manual has the same diagram, unfortunately spread over 2 pages (crease) and also cut off on the left. However, it also has a photo of a complete panel on the preceding page. It does have a few small text boxes superimposed, but they do not appear to be covering anything essential -- getting a scan of that and touching it up in a paint program might work well.

I have the same diagram, and I also have the detail drawings of the individual panels: Image 1Image 2Image 3Image 4Image 5Image 6It seems to be the same image as you've linked, but cut into the individual panels and blown up a bit. You can see a bit more detail than in the full image. Cz

www.realspacemodels.com/html/catalog2.htmThere's an even better replacement for the Revell 1:32 CSm control panel there. It's all moulded in resin. Looks much better. A delicate paint job, but maybe worth it.

I've already got that, but I'm saving that for the second CSM I build. The first is a trial run but I don't want to use the terrible decals that come with the kit. www.realspacemodels.com/html/catalog2.htmThere's an even better replacement for the Revell 1:32 CSm control panel there. I had a bit of a wacky idea, and I need a reality check.
As I said, I'm saving my RSM CM kit detail for the second CSM I build, gaining experience on the first. I still want to replace the decals for the CM interior, but was having trouble scaling the diagramme correctly. Anyway, I'll print them on to a decal sheet and use that in place of the supplied decals. I then thought about all the other decals for the CM interior which I would have little choice but to use. Then I thought..
Why not scan the decal sheet, cut and paste appropriate images from the CM interior diagrammes onto the scanned sheet, then print that out? I'll eliminate all the horrible looking panels and be able to replace them with far more realistic panels.
Will this work?

Do you mean using a scan of the original decal as a template in photoshop? I don't see why not - you'd be sure to get it the right size and correct any proportion errors.
Since you're working at a pretty small size work with the largest dpi you can manage. I used to use a 72dpi printer for draft output (WAY back in the day - it was attached to a mac plus in a sign shop) and we'd work the art at double or quad size and scale down it for plotting.

Well, yes.
I've scanned the decal sheet, giving all the decal shapes and sizes needed. Then I'll cut and paste the various diagrammes onto that scan: the CM panel onto to CM panel decal, lower equipment bay walls, etc. I'd scale / trim the diagrammes to fit the shape / size of the decal. If I can't find a suitable diagramme to replace a decal, I can just create my own. Since I have the original decal scan as a template, there are no issues with trying to create something the correct size to use in the model.
I could even 'customise' my CM interior!

I can't wait to see the fuzzy dice hanging in the CM.

Does anyone have some contact details for the producers of the Command Module 2D instrument panel from the Project Apollo- NASSP website?
I have created an alternative decal sheet for the Revell / Monagram 1:32 CSM using panel diagrammes created by them, and would like to release my version for public use but need their permission. The work does not appear to be copyrighted but I want permission to allow my version to be released for non-commercial / private use.

So do we ever get to see the model you were working on? Is it done?

Ooooh. It's not pretty. I'll do better next time. As you can see, the panel decal turned out a strange green colour (I must have stuffed up the colour settings) but apart from that it was okay. The model is pretty rough. In a few years time I'll get better.
