Is it the series that was shown on the "Discovery Channel"? Each episode covered a different aspect of the mission i.e. CSM, LM, Spacesuit etc. Also, are there any extra features on the DVD set?
Regards
Mark

It was interesting to note the difference in DVD price through different Amazon sites. I was told that the UK Amazon is often cheaper but in this case it was considerably more expensive.
37 pounds (AUD$62) for the DVD versus AUD$28 from the US site - shipped.

Arrived 28 JUN 10.
Interesting to note that it shows footage of the Saturn I, which is pretty rare in my own experience.

I have to admit that this DVD is really really worthy it!!!I´m a dedicated movie-lover and believe that I can tell the difference between a good and a bad movie in general and this DVD is a very well made piece of documentary for sure. These personal stories are so overwhelmingly passionate and so immensly honest...I`m so jellous...I would have given everything to work in a program like Apollo...and these individuals have done just that.An opportunity that is probably rare like a lottery win today...wont happen again.

I love that series, for three reasons:
1: It's a very well-made series of documentaries
2: It includes some great archive footage that isn't the usual stuff you see in every other documentary about the Apollo program
3: The people interviewed are the ones who worked behind the scenes rather than the astronauts and mission controllers. These people were the real lynchpins of the program, and it's nice to actually see them properly.

Oh, and the lunar rover episode, especially the bit where they demonstrate a scale model of it, should be required viewing for every HB who insists there was nowhere to put the rover on the LM!

Seen this series on YouTube from user Zuke696. Very very impressive indeed. I guess the DVD will not be usable in Europe DVD protocols..?

Rob, these days most dvd players and tvs in europe can handle NTSC dvds. The only concern is region encoding which can be disabled on most players. There are sites on the net which tell you the handset number seqwuence required to unlock your player - and it is perfectly legal to do so.
